Re: Questionable player DABR.
Sometimes I grow tired of trying to prove something over the virtual world, I've come to realize that it's just not worth it. Call it what you want, believe what you want... ban me if you must. Game's dying anyways, after that 1v1 dogfight tourney I'm likely gonna pack up and move back to my other g...

Re: Questionable player DABR.
Like I've said many times in the past... I don't object to showing you guys stuff... and I'm on your TS quite a few times when in game. As for the Saiga long range one shot kill at full health, that's a little exaggerated. I'd say 1/100 times I can get a kill like that, but most of the time it takes...

Re: Questionable player DABR.
One thing I never understood - if you're as good as all that, why play such an old game instead of moving on to newer games with more challenge? Also, why play here? It would be like someone from the NBA coming to the local park just to dunk on guys from the neighborhood. It's never made sense to m...

Re: Questionable player DABR.
It's not suspect. It's just you not understanding the capabilities of certain aspects in the game. You can say you've been playing this game for years, and that may be true, but it is not indicative of how well you truly know the game. Well I was about to bring up something similar but you got the ...

Re: FIX: Crash in BF1942.EXE when map is loading.
Here's another thing I've noticed. BF1942 and DC 0.7 do not crash nearly as much as DC Final.
95% of the time loading a DC 0.7 or BF1942 map, it WON'T crash.
50-70% of the time loading a DC Final map, it WILL crash.
Another observation.

When you say "I never had to apply the fix to my Intel system either", does that mean applying the "Battlefield 1942 FaultTolerantHeap shim.sdb" does have an effect, does not have an effect, or hasn't been attempted? -Trench It's never been attempted, because it never crashed in...

Re: FIX: Crash in BF1942.EXE when map is loading.
Trench, I have multiple desktops in the house and they are somewhat mixed platform-wise. I have 1942 installed on 2 computers currently, an Intel i7 3770K based system, and an AMD A10 6800K APU (no dedicated graphics atm). Both are running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I have never seen my 3770K system cras...

Here's a more recent footage of some DC dogfights. I was going up against Cro Cop (actually more like teaching him stuff and showing how to change views etc)... if you don't know who Cro Cop is, his real alias is actually "Raptor" as well, if you've ever seen [F7F7] Raptor in the past, yes...

Re: F-15 Magic
I do use a stick, the Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 to be precise, and I also have my view keys assigned to the joystick buttons, so I'm able to cycle to any view I want with just one click, and back to first person view with another click etc. Makes it so much easier to keep an eye on the enemy at al...

Re: F-15 Magic
If I could give you a few hints, I'd say yes... Haven, you are correct about altitude and airspeed. The higher you are the faster you go (this applies in real life too, because of the thinner air up in higher altitudes and thus less air resistance, but you also lose maneuverability at the same time ...

Nah War Thunder is a cool little free arcade game but not really my cup of tea. I don't really have a "favorite" game, it depends on my mood!Nightstalker wrote:I have to ask, what is #1 favorite game??? And have you tried WarThunder yet? I have and was not overly impressed even though it is decent.

LOL ok I'll put my couple cents in I guess... To those of you who don't know me using my current name (Do a barrel roll), yes... I was originally callsign "Raptor22" back in the days when I played this game competitively. In fact, ever since the game was released in 2002, I've been flying ...

Hello raptor aka..do a barrel roll. I got in touch with brink. He gave me some pointers and a couple of your v ideos to watch. Re: Low ping
So I've noticed that a low ping seems to go in conjunction with absolute ownage in the air. A player named "do a barrel roll" (ping=10) comes to mind. It's as if the planes turn sharper. I've played against SC,kamo,Spec and the like for years. I'm not the best pilot especially against the...

If you suspect it's your HDD connection... have you tried getting a new SATA cable? Check to see if your SATA connectors on your HDD are not damaged (happened to me before). I'm just assuming you are using SATA or SATA II.

Re: Serious Question About Settings
Waffles, great info on the FOV part... I was unsure myself which was the best for my resolution till I saw that site. I originally had mine set at 1.1, which had some graphic glitches to it at times, but for my aspect ratio (16:9) the correct FOV is 1.3333. Basically now I can see even further ahead...

Re: for those who want to learn to fly!
Nice shots Raptor. You're a very good pilot. What resolution do you play in? Maybe its my imagination, but it seems like your chase and fly-by views show the plane smaller (like the camera is back further) than mine does. Or did you tweak the FOV or something? Or maybe I'm just delusional :) I play...
