Re: Weird Chrome issue with youtube

Thanks, had never paid much attention to how the Chrome plug-ins were handled. Attached is how the Flash plug-in details display on the machine I described. In the same area as the "disable individual plug-ins", there is also a "manage exceptions" for plug-ins where a site-specif...

Re: Weird Chrome issue with youtube

FWIW, I don't recognize the directives shown in that text, so I'm guessing it's probably Flash directives given the other info shown there. e.g. "Seems like Flash code being displayed literally instead of handled by a Flash plug-in." In Chrome if you go into Settings, then at the bottom of...

Re: Origin

EA117 is running a CD-based server, so by default only a CD-based Battlefield 1942 client would be able to connect. However, see Specialist's How to use Origin BF1942 to play on CD version servers thread for information on how to make an Origin-based Battlefield 1942 client able to connect to both O...

Re: Influx of <CP> players.

Interesting fact of the day: Players tend raise their lethality (score/min) after adding the <CP> tag. Your actual thesis might still be true -- that players with the CP tag raise their score/min -- but the numbers you're using aren't what proves or disproves that. In addition to what Nightstalker ...

Re: Abusing admin rights & arbitrary kicks: i_am_not_your_fa

I was on the server when this latest incident occurred, and upon seeing the forum thread(s) I certainly had many of the same thoughts Nightstalker did, albeit a little less intensely since I haven't been having to "deal with it" for as long as EA117 admins have. Cheesemaster, even if EA117...

Best of luck with your unban request. Post it in the Unban Request forum using the message content instructions and BFHasher program link you see in the red instruction text displayed in that forum.

Re: Lost second install CD for PC :(

There aren't any significant down-sides to just using the Origin version at this point. You do have to install Origin of course, and it's a bit more steps to get Punkbuster installed because it doesn't come as part of the Origin Battlefield 1942. Also, even with the Origin version you must still hav...

One way to get better bombing, is to start practicing when your in the bathroom. That's how I realized my talent..... Thanks Opus, Thanks Pin, appreciate the map request yesterday, and now we know which map and mode to put on whenever we want to play "Single-File Firing Squad Bridge of Death", or "CTF without the possibility of those pesky flag captures."

Re: Bans

I would counter that I'm addressing the consistency of enforcement , and not the rules themselves. For what it's worth, that's what I see you're doing, too. But that doesn't change that it still seems like you're "demanding to be taught instead of enforced" about something that is already...

Re: Desktop Shortcut customization questions

Don't know and haven't used it, but the BF1942.exe is looking for a +playerName parameter, just like described for BF2.exe in http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_7.html. But it's not clear "the player name" is really what needs to be controlled; you really want to control which profile is being...

For me, that only happens "sometimes", like I thought it was just a fluke in the game. Maybe it has always been on Bocage, but I wasn't paying that close attention. Meaning exactly like Zanshin described, I /always/ go and change "what kit do I want to spawn with next" even while...

but if you commit suicide when auto balance is on and you get switched is that team switching?? Can't be, since /you/ didn't switch yourself, the server did. IMHO,,,,if someone switches back cuz they want to reap their hard work.....fine.....give it 10 seconds and it will rebalance out.....now if they are switching for other reasons then,,,,,thats different. Yeah, but who is going to decide "who's hard work is worthy of being allowed to switch, and...

Re: ***FURY*** - glitching in walls, stacking & harrassing

I would certainly hope for "glitching" to mean something other than the "prone and I backed into a wall" position. That's far too common, and works against you (feet sticking through other side of a wall) as often as it works for you. To me the El Al sniping position on red main ...
