cannot install new maps

Hi i have downloaded Dc final on five different computers and all the files are the same. Every computer ask for a program to run the file. How can I fix this to be able to enjoy the new maps?

Hey Dog, I play on Mac and believe that I have kept copies of the DCFinal dmg and install packs for DC_Full v0.7_Mac and DCRealism. Dunno if I could just email those images to you and have them work for you or not. PM me with an email and I will try if you are interested.

Ok I downloaded the file and it worked fine. I could install it but the maps are still not present. I chose the default location for installing DC final but is there aniother place that it would make it work so i can play the maps?

Did you check in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels. Are you sure the maps aren't there?

Yes, unless you specified a different location. This is the default location.

This is where they were installed

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels\mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels
I installed in the location you indicated and it still did not work

I should say that the above is where it was install when i used your mapping. The default that it gives me is:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Server

Ok Here is what is happening.
When I install them they go in to the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 server\Mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels
insted of Battlefield 1942. I even tried to install the indivual RFA file and they still dont work.

Are you running (or have you installed) server?

Go into the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 server\Mods folder. Cut the DC_Final folder.

Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder (not server). Paste the DC_Final folder.

Does it work now?

Tried it and it still doesnt work. When i try to use the new maps im now booted right out of the program. It didnt do that before. When i use the game on my pc only i dont even see the maps in my list.

Im getting fristrated of saving to sit out all the time when the new maps come up.

Any more suggestions?

Firstly, you (or someone using your name) was making an ass out of themselves on the server yesterday.

Secondly, can you post a screenshot or something of the folder and path where they are currently? We seem to have some kind of disconnect between us. This shouldn't be rocket surgery.

Ok first order of business yesterday that was my 10 year old he cant play anymore! He has been booted from my game.lol You know me better then that i wouldnt do stupid things on any server.

Teamkilling (it may not have been intentional) and just generally getting in the way. If he plays, just jump on and let us know (if there are regulars on) that it's him so no one thinks you're drunk. Or change his name or something, although if he's goofy enough you might find yourself in here explaining it.

The map files themselves (they're .rfa files) should be in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Server\Mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels\ but if you forklift the whole mod from somewhere else, just put the whole DC_Final folder in the Mods directory, with the whole fodler tree intact below it.

The unpacked mod iteself should be installed in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Server\Mods\DC_Final\, there will be some files there and all the mod's folder should be in there as well.

I'm not saying this very well, if someone else wants to have a crack at it go on ahead.

Basically if you deleted everything in the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Server\Mods\DC_Final\ folder, you could unzip or uinstall the mod there and everything would work.

Tried everything...the Rfa files are exactly where you say they should be but it stiil doesnt work, Im just about to give up. My son has his own nick now Its Katjess. I told him about the way we play this game and i tyhing he understands now.
