wrong version? help please

Hi i installed my old battlefield 1942 the other day and wanted to play some desert combat so i downloaded the battlefield 1.6.19 full install patch then i installed desert combat 0.7 full install too which is the newest patch i found out there, but still when i try to connect to the servers it says wrong version on like 99% of all the servers there is. Do anyone know what patch which is the most recent and the one that ppl are actually using on their servers? would be very happy for answers.

I answered your PM, sounds like you have the right files, it may just be an order of installation. I would say to try:
Remove the program and delete all the program directories
Reinstall the base BF
Install the BF patch to 1.6.19 (the full patch, not the incremental)
Install DC .7
Install DC Final

it's also called 1.61B patch, if you can't fnd it listed othewise.

Thanks Mojo, I think I was confusing the 1.6.19 with 1.61B.

That's prolly the issue right there.

Yes just remember that after installing 1.61 patch, you still need to install the 1.61b patch. I also recommend that you update you Punk Buster before playing, for some reason PB doesn't seem to auto update and there are several new updates and you will be kicked if you don't have them.
