Graphical corruptions. How hot is your card running?

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the other day and to update everyone you said you have already updated the drivers, reseated the card and made sure the fans are running... right?

I have done the following:
Drivers updated.
Opened the tower and blasted it with canned air.
re-seated card and checked connection point, all appear fine to my untrained eye.
verified that the fans function and blow their little hearts out.

Strangely enough, when I hit ESC and jump to BF menu it appears fine and when I hit ESC and jump back in game, they (the Jinky graphics) are gone for about 15 to 20 minutes before they return.

There is one unexpected bonus. If we are playing an urban map like Bridge and my video card starts having a stroke, It renders all the buildings transparent when I get close to them and I can actually see the opposing side through the buildings. Now being a scholar and a gentleman, I would never, EVER, take advantage of this unexpected gift but there it is.

Note to self. Next time Itax is doing well on an infantry map ... ban him for exploits.

Just a thought and maybe trying to spark up some other thoughts from guys that know way more than I but, is this the only game it does that with? Have you tried reinstalling BF1942? How many beers/glasses of wine/shots have you had at the time of this visual discrepancy?

I assume you actually monitor the temperatures after re-seating the card? What are they?

Is this only with this game or does it happen with every game?

What card do you have? And have you overclocked it?

also if you card was still under warranty, i wouldn't have re-seated it. i'm fairly certain that voids the warranty and kinda ruined your chances of a replacement if it's a bad card.

From the looks it...your card is possibly over heating and killed the card or Card GPU is going due to age. thats probably why you see the video distortions every so often.

Or its the game...have you changed anything recently to it? Possibly revert back to older drivers?
