Just a time saving tip

Post by Babies_Happen »

Im sure some of you already know this but thought id share for the others. if you want to skip the EA intro and the 1942 opening video when you launch DC, do the following: right click on your DC icon and go to properties. in the Target field type one space then +restart 1. so the whole thing should be:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game DesertCombat +restart 1
Now when you run the game it will go right to the menu screen without wasting valuable seconds.

Good info babies, I use that plus the no cd crack and start the game in less than 5 seconds.

You can download the no CD crack here: http://megagames.com/cgi/download/downl ... S.NOCD.ZIP --- this allows you to run the game and not have to worry about having to insert the game CD into your CD/DVD - ROM .

I used to use a no cd crack but it kept giving me issues so i gave up. I got the one u linked to but cant get it to work right. ive cracked lotssss of games before and its usually easy but i dont know wtf im doing wrong. it extracts into BF1942, a .org file, and a Mods folder with 3 folders with .dll files. i assume i replace the original BF1942 with the new one. after that i dont know what im suppose to do, and after 30 minutes of trying here i am. what do i do with the 3 mod.dll files? and the .org thingy?

Just install move all the files from that folder and move/copy to your battlefield 1942 folder -- it will ask you to replace the files with the new files and just click on yes.

The folder location should look like this: (c)/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 1942

aight so i just dragged and dropped the extracted files to the directory and the game would load ok without the cd but i couldnt connect to any server via the "data differs from server" error... whats the deal with the xpack1 & 2 folders? do i have to take the mod.dll files out of the folders before moving them to the directory or do i only need the dll file in the bf1942? i donno, for a simple crack this is kicking my butt tonight. meh anyway i went back to the cd way for now, a few seconds is a small price to pay. im sure we'll figure it out.
