This map was on the map rotation at one point and most of the players didn't like to play the map because of the darkness on the map (same goes with Operation Bragg) - Now that being said, I personally like the map and enjoy playing it every now and then. If we get enough people that say that they want to play that certain map then we can consider adding it to our rotation. So if you want this map added to the rotation, SPEAK UP.

For the time being, ask one of the admins when they are in game about setting that map next and I'm sure most will oblige.

Last nights Basrah Nights sessions were AWESOME!! i'm glad we played it twice :D

But yeah a lot of people don't like the darkness of the map :( I for one love the map with a passion. Hopefully we can run it more every once in a while.

I never thought the darkness was an issue on this map. Brag had some darkness issues, but I still enjoyed it. Most people griped about nights because red won almost every time and also everyone cried about the VSS. I say throw it back in the rotation and let people discuss how to balance it in this thread. Or admins should run it once in a while at least.

I've never had a problem with the darkness or the VSS, personally.
My beef is the ability the players with faster computers have to snatch all the flags before anyone can appose them, which you have to admit, happens on a lot more than just this map.

Especially the '42 maps that have helos where there originally was no air.
Namely, Tobruk and Bulge.

Anyway, my solution is to make the starting points for each team on Basrah Nights an uncap, with an MP5 crate in blue base, and a VSS crate in Red base, while changing to the AKS kit for Red's Spec Ops.
This solves every issue except for the night factor, which to me seems irrelevant.

Whadya think, guys?

Lev, i agree with the crates, variety is always good. BUT, nights is as much about stealth as taking flags/killing, imo. Having a suppressed weapon like the car or vss can make a lot of difference in your ability to move around undetected. The US spec ops kit would have a large advantage over the Opp AKS kit, in both stealth and ammo capacity (why does the aks only get 4 mags? wtf, defeats the purpose of the 5.45x39 round). Just my thoughts on trying to maintain balance. We played nights last night (thanks Prop) and it was a good game, people seemed to enjoy it.

Yeah, I agree, the VSS plays a big roles just like the CAR-15.
I was just trying to find a solution for everyone.
Personally, I think the VSS should stay in this map.

Can the VSS be added to the blue team's special ops kit? That would make for a much better balance, IMO.

great idea with this forum guys.

i can't see and this map, but maybe its just my eyesite. but i would vote to keep it in the rotation. i am for any new map. i am a regular here for a long time now and playing the same maps over and over gets a little boring. so i am for any new maps in the rotation.

If no one has noticed, when I play Spec Ops, I usually swipe the gear of enemies I kill.
Firstly, it gives me some variety.
Second, it gives me practice with each weapon type.
Third, I usually end up with a VSS and terrorize people with it. ^_^

In my opinion afew maps need to be switch out including torbuk and Battle of the buldge as much fun as these maps Were i got my fill of them on 1942 Bashras nights and Bragg would be a nice adition possibly adding the new map to the rotation would be great and exiting to see.

what the big deal about this vss gun. i can't hit the side of a barn with it. is there a hack for just that gun because i get killed with 1 or 2 lots of times i go up against someone with it.

btw theres another rambo on this server and its not me. his name starts with a capital R as Rambo. just don't want you guys to mistake me for him. i heard he was complaining and shooting teamates in the back. i don't want to change my name because i had it from the my very first game. maybe i will add something to it so we all can tell the differance.

Probably one of the most good infantry map on DC, withou the VSS nooob gun. I like this map, like Lost Village to make M16 sniping ;) But with the VSS, that's become unbalanced. Remove the VSS form this map and Lost Village and that's will become very good and cool for the best player who have a great skill with the weapon and quick target acquiring.
