I mentioned this on the blog one day sometime back and the only replies to it were positive...but since that wasn't a condusive place for discussion or planning (if we can get to that stage), I'd like to bring it up here again...

I am hoping we can get a dedicated team day of conquest. It could work something like this..

1) Divide all players into teams red/blue
2) have teams dedicate squads and roles (much like in BF2). say 2 inf, 1 medic, one AT etc per squad (or whatnot).
3) Have 21 maps to play, begin at map 11:
3a. If blue wins Map 11, move to map 12. If red wins Map 11, move to map 10 (and so on and so forth)
3b. Winning team is decided when the map rotation gets to either the map 1 or map 21.

I think (well, hope) this might be an easy, but extremely fun and effective way for us to build up our 117 community, build on team work, share tactics and so much more.

Ideas? Thoughts?

i like the idea but there is a few problems.

1. not everyone can stay or will be too tired to play all these maps.

2. we only have 36 players. alot of good players will be left out. how would you choose the top 36? and the server will be full for hours.

i got into it with a DAGL guy one day. he was bragging about having the best players on his server. i never played there ( i hate a sever with no rules ) but being loyal and also i really do think some of our regulars are really good players challenged his guys against our guys. but then again you have a problem with really good guys getting left out of a top 18 ( 36 ) or 32 ( 64 ).

3. the squad idea is bad. if you have a team of top players you want those guys doing what they do best ( assault, at, support....) whatever it is they do to help you win.


what i do what to see is this.


everybody who want to play in a tornament puts there name on here. when we reach a certain number we stop.

each admin has a team and drafts players.

then pick a day on the weekend when most are home,

example. fri 8pm swanny vs lbm sat 4pm sos vs specilist sat 8pm canivore vs alpha3

and so on... now that would be cool.

Sounds like a good idea but lets face it, this is a public server and not everyone visits the forum. We can barely keep the teams even on most maps as it is, people go would solo and decide to do other things or just got out and kill.. Now I don't know about you but I can play 3-4 maps and still stay sane but I cant imagine going 9+.

Again, sounds like a good idea and it would definitely build team work but all that would end up happening is chaos.. but hey that's just my opinion.

OK, well I am open to any amount of maps, 5 maps I guess would be easiest I guess and make for a somewhat fair maps conquest.

I think though that breaking it into squads (not mandatory for players, moreso, just suggest it to encourage teamwork.) Fighter Pilots cover helo's and bombers, helos attack ground forces, bombers hit hard and soft targets and AA, Armor is chased around by Mechanics (I love doing that anyways) as support...etc.

I dunno, maybe I am putting to much into it...but I'd love to see some REAll teamwork going on..something we don't get in a normal game aside from the rarity.

And Spec, I may even let you live if I catch you in my sights lol.

OK, Ya I know I suck, but I love this game :)
