Trying out a signature image.

Post by Trench »

Posting these attachments here instead of photobucketing the image. Needs more refinement, but I wanted to at least try it out.

First off, where is the MBT? I'm hurt.
Looks good a little on the dark side. Helo needs to stand out a tad more

Thanks for the feedback. The vision in my head I was attempting to execute is pretty dark too, for what it's worth. But I can definitely see "close to too dark", in that depending on how a computer monitor's brightness and contrast are set, you might have a really hard time seeing anything. I was originally using the "real" Apache photo that is in my avatar now, and that was definitely black-on-black, so I switched to using the DesertCombat-rendered Apache instead.

I've gone ahead and pushed the gamma up a bit, so it should be brighter that it was yesterday. Not really trying to make the Apache the "focal point" per se, but more that someone would realize after a moment or two of seeing the elevator and "no Hinds" sign that "oh, that's an Apache in an underground parking garage..."

Sarge that was a comment best left for PM. Now everyone will know where to look if Trench wanted to play the prank and wait 'till he noticed.

Damn it. Odd, I had one of those moments. You should have deleted it and pm'd me. After all your name is in black. It's your fault.

참호 = the Korean noun form of "trench", by the way.
I just wanted some Eastern text in there, like a bad tribal tattoo.
My tramp stamp, if you will.

Korean, and it's the noun form of "trench" ("참호").

EDIT: And I picked it just because it involved more visually interesting characters than the Japanese characters for "trench". Not because I know Korean, am Korean, or have any legitimate business using either Japanese or Korean in my signature image.

Just general signature image information: Noticed today that the signature image in the forum posts allows up to around 632 pixels wide, but the signature image when displayed in PM messages will be truncated around 492 pixels. So better to put important info within the 492 boundary, if you want to make an image that will also display well in PMs. For what it's worth.
