I want internet data to not be controlled or throttled by ISPs because there can be a conflict of interest. Just sell your service and move along.

Oh no...

I hate thinking about this crap. Unfortunately it is business as usual for Washington and big business.

Can be a conflict? There already is:
Comcast (and TimweWarner) have products/media that competes with Netflix, hulu, youtube, etc. Comcast w/TW controls ~60% of broadband house holds in the US.

Something to keep in mind when thinking about this whole thing:

Most notably:

The whole thing is riddled w/lobbyists and shady politicians. Americans are the ones who will meanwhile be getting screwed.

ISP's should be regulated as Common Carriers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_carrier) and nothing short of that.

Write and call your representatives. It is always a good idea to donate to the Electronic Frontier Foundation if you want to do more: https://www.eff.org/
