Wat the ...

Post by oldboi »

Hey guy's just a quik couple question's, team killin is a no-no i know, but wen it does occur as has done i get -2 score. The norm is -1 umm ?
The team kill's are alway's unintentional, but still pee's me off, cause wen happen's say soz but sum ppl still take to seriously. Wat else is there can do ?
Wen in base i seem to be gettin smashed regularly, mite be just me, wrong place at the tym !
An over the tym i have noticed that wen in a tank battle, i will lose against the smaller. Is this sumthin to do with my location, lag or ping ?

Not complainin just inquirin cause it does get annoyin. But hey is only game, an enjoyment is wat's about.
All input would be great appreciated.

-2 is the normal for any tk intentional or not. Alot of good players know where to shoot a vehicle to make it take more damage, I've heard that shooting a tank toward the top turrent will cause more damage to your opponent... I wouldn't know since I am not a tanker, try to lag shoot when in fight.. also anticipate where they are going to be and shoot there.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention this one fact.. I can beat any tanker on this server with my trusty ole A-10 :)

NO sweat, I speak fluent typo (and typo quiet well myself I'll have you know! lol)

that uhh, lolz stuff is some (imho) gay kidy thing where they go and type all weird...kinda reminded me of it is why I asked.

Getting better, for me, we helped dramatically by actually trying to team up with another inf (etc) and trying not to go solo.

for instance...things I "try" to do (though it's not always possible)

1) Helos:
Only use Helos as direct attack when supporting ground forces in the immediate area. Solo hunting in a helo will often lead to death from AT, AA and planes.

2) Armor:
Keep armor (Bradley, Abrams) ahead of inf, but never away from Inf as your main goal is to provide protection to the foot soldiers, and beingt the occasional taxi for stranded men. They in turn, will protect you.

3) Infantry:
I personally enjoy support class. However, I try to play to the needs of the team I am on. If I see s group of players out there, I will try to become either a medic or heavy arms or AT (depending on what is needed).
If there are armor colums roving around, try to be an Engineer to ensure they actually keep rolling.

4) Strictly Defense:
If I am trying to guard a flag, I will often use heavy weapons and attempt to hide nearby to ensure it doesnt get capped.

But there are so many ways to play.. I guess what I'm saying is, don't try to rambo and be there for your team. You wil live much longer, score much higher, learn so much more from watching your team mates in action as well as become a very welcome member any team wants to play with. :)

Nice to meet ya, see ya on the battelfield!

well spec as long as you keep shoot at the top turret you should stay in the A10
my book on tanks:
1st i know many of the top tankers like to fix their position and take opportunity kills ... probably the best way to be successful in the m1. I personally like to hunt and enjoy rollin tank battles. If you want to really improve your tank skills particularly the tactical portion use the ee9 on 73. no way can you go head to head other tanks or a SMAW fer that matter. U gotta be smart and fast ... jus like a jet fighter ... get in behind and give em a good reaming.
it dosent matter how many shots you need if they arnt shootin at you you're going to get a kill
Head to head my philosophy is to keep moving; break off at a slight angle and shoot low. I want to see the enemies tracks.
one o my fav tactics is to get enemy tankers to chase me like the ol cowboy galloping gun fight. In a 72 you cant shoot at the 6 but what i do is pivot left and right as im moving and shoot over my shoulder. interestingly this pattern tends to also provide an evasive maneuver from receiving damage.
also if you have your game resolution high you can pick up indicating dust trails of enemy tanks .... roll on and slide in behind
I love it
Other tank tactics .... try not to use expected routes like roads and gaps a10 wiz's patrol those positions
ie if you go out the front gate of blu on desertshield your going to die
use slopes to get better angles on idiot pilots
and for gawds sake use the engineer pack
use repairing as a tactic to kill smaw inf at flags ... site your tank on the expected enemy location get out start wrenchen .. when u lure em out jump in and mg away
Excerpts from my book ... life and death of a battlefield tanker

Hey thank's guy's, the info is fantastic. Some of the stuff i have already been trying, with the resolution adjustment i have found that player id takes longer to show up. Also have had situations were they are still in the fog before i see them, but on the bonus side you can now see shadows and other things that weren't visible before. My use of the 50 cal is now heaps better.
My reaction time and the use of keyboard is not very coordinated, i finger type an have to look at the dam thing all the time.
I used to play on a playstation and that is very predictive and easy use of controller. Only being sorta computer savvy and so many buttons i think is probably not helping. LOL
I am very grateful for all the advise an hope to improve, i have been playing for a while now but with the thought that things are going to be the same ...bots. And not watching what is going on. They call that a learning curve, hahaha.
See you on the field again soon.
