Posting youtube videos.

Hi, I'm Swanny, and I'm here today to tell you a little bit about posting videos from youtube here in the forums.
Posting videos is a fascinating and lively topic, so let us begin.
First, find your video on youtube. Ah! There's a lovely one! Next, copy the address from the address bar. If you notice, The address for a plain video looks like this:
Code: Select all
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W-hqoJhcQc
Code: Select all
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVpaanzd9Cs&feature=related
If the address starts with https://, remove the s so it is just http://
Take your finely crafted address, and look above the message composition window (achieved by clicking "Post Reply" in the thread instead of using the quick reply at the bottom of the page).
See that button that says ? click it. In your post you'll see something that looks like this:
Code: Select all

Code: Select all

That's all there is to it! You are now a youtube posting expert. Sometimes when you try to play the video afterwards, it will tell you embedding has been disabled. That means whoever posted it doesn't want you to watch it anywhere but youtube. I generally go find another copy that CAN be watched here, and post that one instead.
If you post and all you see if gibberish, you probably got some portion of the code or address wrong. Start over, and be careful about what you paste in and where you paste it. Ask for help if you can't figure it out. We'll be glad to help.
