Battlefield 1943: Pacific**UPDATED WITH TRAILER!**

Post by MOJORyder »

dig it! Ya!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTu5AgY03c0
"Players can prepare for action in Battlefield 1943™, an all-new multiplayer game available this summer via PlayStation®Store, Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace and on the PC."

"Using the same Frostbite™ engine, Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII. The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Delivering the award-winning through-the-gun and vehicle warfare online experience DICE is best recognized for, Battlefield 1943 will have players battling in ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat. Players can see the game in action at New York Comic Con (Booth #1441) from February 6th-8th."

Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that were eager to get into players hands.
A now removed entry in the New York Comic Con show exclusives pages has revealed Electronic Arts' plans to announced a new Battlefield game at the expo.

EA has already confirmed a sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company is in the works, but this is a different title. It seems EA plans to go back again to the WWII era as the page mentioned above revealed that EA will give away "Battlefield 1943: Pacific Postcards" at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 6th.

Sound like an xbox game. Seems EA, or Trauma, just doesn't want to make another great pc game after the BF2 fiasco. Big thumbs down on console games converted to pc.

I doubt it will be console... highly doubt it

For the past..ohh, year or so, EA has hinted and rumored itself to be in production of a true sequel to BF42 and perhaps even making a true MMORPG/FPS style battlefield game.

Either way, Pacfic won't be console, PC :)

LOL Mojo. Read your initial post. It says Playstation, Xbox and then PC. With DICE involved, and the fact they mention vehicles and true dogsfights, this game may have promise. Who knows, maybe this will let DICE and Trauma Studios know that there is a real market for an updated Desert Combat. One can only hope

I know Soy lol, I edited the original post after I replied to ya (I subsequently found the video with those details, the original post was nothing more than the second shown quote in the first post) :)

Yet another game aimed at console owners... PC games are a small market compared to consoles which means there is less incentive to go the extra mile and make the PC version a true PC game. I hope the PC version is great but i bet they will just fancy up the console version with better graphics and call it good, seems to be the trend in the game industry. But who knows, guess we will find out when the game is released in a year or however long it takes to make.

I hate to say it, but I think DC's days are numbered. We tried to play the DesertConflict mod for BF2 - it lasted a few months and then dropped off entirely. It was very sad.

Even if 1943 comes out, I wouldn't play it (I don't think) any more than I play '42 now.
It looks a bit like BFV and very hectic, if their trailer has any realism to it - I think developers that show their cutscenes as an ad for the game should be sued for fraud most times.

The best mod I ever played was for BF2 called Project Reality. Incredible. A bit of a learning curve, but ... incredible. If you're a teamwork-oriented player there is nothing like it.

*Edit* - Who am I kidding, I'd buy it. Even if I never played it. :(

Although it does look nice.
I remember some of the "in game footage" that first came out for BF2 later they cut things from the game and the quailty was no where as good as thier super computers. I'd still at least try playing it but I just don't have the time I used to.

Unlimited ammo and re-generating health. If it's a downloadable game for $15-20 I will at least try it.

Half the fun in BF/DC is choosing the best kit before you spawn ;-)
