Swanny-CG
Well.
I was born at a very young age. That was in 1975.
I live in San Jose, CA (about an hour south of San Francisco). I'm married (9 years this coming June) and we have three kids - 17, 17 and 19 (his and hers but no ours).
I do IT for a big North American defense contractor. I like it and they pay me to show up. Score.
We have two dogs, both mutts. They like me better than most people. I guess I like them about the same.
In my spare time I like photography, riding my bike, and most forms of activity/incidental exercise.
We started the server many years ago. It was run by a group of us who all knew each other from work. We ran it off a T1 for 6 or 7 years, upgraded to a DS3 and then eventually we broke it off into a service provider. Since then, only a few of us are left - Carnivore-CG and me, and Keith-CG keeps promising he's going to make a comeback someday. We've added new people along the way. We had a brief stint into BF2 and dropped that pretty quickly. Now we have the BF3 endeavor.
With the introduction of the forums, we've developed a community I am [usually] proud to be part of. I'm glad we have this place to have the contact we have, even if it's not face to face.
I have to say, the history of the server is far more interesting than I am.

Did someone get drunk on their 21st birthday and forget to wrap it ... 9 months later a little tadpole arrives.
God bless the past and present men and women in uniform.

No, my daughter was born when I was 19.
NS learned what a vagina was when he turned 18 and it evidently took him three more years to work up the courage to touch one

Re: Swanny-CG

Re: Swanny-CG
When EA still had public servers, they were named EA 12, EA 36, etc. We jumped ahead and went high - why 117 got chosen, I don't know.
When BF2 came out we actually got a "cease and desist" order from EA, they said if we used that name they would boot us from the server browser lists. Like I said, BF2 didn't last long for us.
When we went BF3, I told Spec what happened before and suspected we would get something similar this time around, but they either don't know or don't care. Maybe they have a different naming convention now, I don't even know what they're calling their servers now.
Anyway, that's it.

I've been back for a few weeks now. But after four years away I'm so bad that I'd prefer that no one noticed.Swanny-CG wrote:

'the dogs like me more than most people - I guess I like them about the same' LMAO!
I remember those servers back in the day listed EA ## - wow, I'd forgot that! I remember there being a EA72 that I used to play on because it was the year I was born... lol That's crazy that I'd totally forgot those servers and never put it together with EA 117... jeesh
