OVERLAY

Post by Nightstalker »

The newest update for TS3 has its own overlay. If you already got it and didnt know all you have to do is go to settings then setup wizard ... click the "next" tab 6 times and you will see the first paragraph .. click the enable overlay and TADAAAAA instant overlay. ;)

Thanks Tuck

I messed around with the overlay program, it seems to work well.

I was able to change the box location. I did so by going to the setting for the overlay. To do so, follow the instructions below:

Go to Settings -> Plugins and check "DirectX overlay plugin". Then hit "settings" with it selected to configure the overlay box settings. Also, make sure that on the "Overlay" tab, that "Disable loading" is not checked.

These are the settings that I used for mine.

I also shot a quick video of the overlay in action...

Notice the cool enter player notification at :44 :)

So far so good.

I tried all the suggestions posted and I still can not get the overlay up on my PC. Is there anyone else with the same/similar issue? Would be nice to see who I am talking to until I get to know all of your voices.

Make sure that you have the most current version of TeamSpeak 3.

Also check under Settings ---> Plugins, and make sure that you have the box DirectX overlay plugin check marked.

Well I think I just had enough in trying to get my overlay to work :x  :x I have tried everything you guys suggest and still no luck. I reloaded TS3 and updated DirectX. I went through the plugin settings. I tried TINT but the API version was at 11 but required 13 so that got me nowhere :( NStalker I want to let u know I REALLY appreciate you trying to help me with this :D If anyone wants to try here is what I have: Dell laptop with Windows XP. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I may have to get Windows 7

Hey sorry it took me a while to get back with an answer. It seems the overlay does not work with XP. I don't know if it is because it actually needing DirectX 11 and XP only supports 10. That is the only thing I can figure even though it says it works with DX 8,9,10, and 11. I am doing some more digging and talking to the people over at Teamspeak to find an answer. As soon as I do I will let y'all know.

Hang on guys .. I am trying ... I have been talking to some of the people over at Teamspeak so I promise as soon as I hear anything I will let you know. Just breathe for a minute or I am gonna get Johnny to put you in with the guys that whine alot. ;)

I have not heard anything yet but .. just to make sure we are all good you guys have made sure to update your DirectX right???. And just for safe measure you may want to see if there are any driver updates for your video card. (CMon I think you said you are running a Dell. You can do that right from their website .. just get your service tag # .. its pretty easy or at least it used to be .. I havent done it in a while.) OH and I know this may sound stupid but sometimes its the easiest thing that can screw us up. Yall did make sure to download the correct version of TS3. There are 4 options - 2 client (which is what you need) and 2 server. Then there are 2 selections within each. One for 64bit and 32bit. Make sure you are choosing the correct one.

I do not have my XP computer with me or I would try some different things so I am gonna have to rely on you guys to try this until then. When I get home IF I have a chance I will give it a go. Unfortunately I have a truck that wont pass emissions so I am gonna be busy until it does.
