I propose that we take Omaha beach out of the rotation and replace it with Basrahs edge. Seems like a lot of people dislike Omaha. Not sure why edge isn't in there since it's a great map.

With Edge replacing Omaha the rotation would've been perfect. However, the addition of No Fly Zone, Wake and Urban Siege have me confused.

While I've never liked Wake it seems to be a favorite to many. NFZ and UrbanS are very large maps that seem to better suited for 30+ players.

DC- Barasahs Edge CQ
DC- Gazala CQ
DCF- Al Nas CTF
DCF- Dustbowl CQ
DCF- Liberation of Caen CQ
DC- Bocage Day2 CQ
DC- El Alamein CQ
DCF- Lost Village CQ
DC- Kharkov CQ
DC- Guadalcanal CQ
DC- Basrah Nights CTF

Seemed like the perfect balance of land and air with none of the maps stretching players out very far.

I know you can't make everyone happy, just adding my 2 cents.

You are right Rick, and of course as you have seen, if you do not like the current rotation, give it time and it will change. ;)

I for one (and maybe the only one) like Omaha.

Right, I know you guys tend to change the rotation often which is nice. My only recommendation (I love the game more than I hate the maps) is to at least split Wake, NFZ and US from each other in the rotation. Its feels ~2+ hours of slow paced/large maps.

Yea I don't see any harm in that. Maybe swap Bas. Nights CTF and Urban Siege as Nights normally plays well and fast paced. Break the monotony a little.

Omaha's boundaries need to be opened up to allow sniping access in the hills to the left. Why was this tightened up? Or was it ever modified?. I'm sure nighty would agree. This map needs the Herc.

OK, not set in stone so we need everyone's perspective and input.

So the rotation is ... Aberdeen, Al Nas (CTF), Bocage Day 2, Wake, Basrah Nights (CTF), Basrahs Edge, No Fly Zone Day 2, Urban Siege, El Alamein, Lost Village (CTF), Gazala

Current Rotation:

Aberdeen
Al Nas (CTF)
Bocage Day 2
Wake
Basrah Nights (CTF)
Basrahs Edge
No Fly Zone Day 2
Urban Siege
El Alamein
Lost Village (CTF)
Gazala

My opinion FWIW:

Aberdeen, NFZ and sometimes Bocage D2 can kill the server (a lot of players leave) even during peak times. I think these should be rotated out for sure.

LV CTF goes by to quickly and IMO is the best infantry map outside of maybe berlin (dat nade spam :( )

I think adding the following would be good for all round play:
Twin Rivers
Oil Fields
Sea Rigs
Al Khafji Docks

I personally miss Dust Bowl, Desert Shield and 73 Easting but those are all large, vehicle centered maps.

I know Rye has been playing around w/some of the less common/modded maps lately. We played Kursk CTF the other day and it was very fun.

I am looking forward to some changes and I am excited to see what you guys all come up with!

Completely agree with Derick.

These four would be splendid to have added in somewhere.

Twin Rivers
Oil Fields
Sea Rigs
Al Khafji Docks

and possibly Coastal Hammer (?)

We just did El Al, Gazala, Wake, and Aberdeen all in a row and the server went from 30 to 14 very fast, but it's also 12am Central right now so it is a bit late. Those four maps all in a row that I just mentioned aren't that great, with no DC maps to spice it up in between. I may be mistaken on the correct order of those maps, not sure.

I like all the maps. My taste for which ones to play basically is a spontaneous thing. Most of the time...the CTF maps are quite fun, especially Al Nas & Lost Village.

To me, it's more about how many people are playing. The more, the merrier. Even the dullest of maps would be a blast if there were 40+ people on.

Hey guys! I just wanted to ask what happened to maps like

battle of the bulge,
kursk,
tobruk,
midway,
twin rivers,
liberation of caen,
guadalcanal,
iwo jima, etc...

These days we seem to play very repetitive maps. It would be really nice if Admins returned them into the map list! Current ones are great, but I miss the rotation from a while ago.
Peace all, I really hope that someone will hear me - it would be awesome to see some of those maps back! And I hope that others miss old stuff too :)
