[PAC] KAPITAN BOMBA glitching

Post by Beaver »

Saw this on the server today of [PAC] KAPITAN BOMBA glitching on urban siege. as soon as i asked what the screenshot key was, he disconnected.

This is not the first time i've seen this guilds members glitching.

Dont know whether you can do anything, but if not, keep an eye on the guild [PAC], as i said above, its not the first time i've seen this guilds members glitching.

I had 2 fraps videos of [PAC] Jaro using that exact same glitch on Urban Siege. I didn't post them because he was afk and using the glitch to make sure he didn't get killed while afk.

OK .. two stupid questions ...

1 ... glitching ... is that just where there is a problem with the map or is this a hack ????

2 what is the key for a sreen shot?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glitching

Glitching is a form of cheating in which a person finds and exploits flaws or glitches in video games to achieve something that was not intended by the game designers. Gamers who engage in this practice are known as glitchers. Glitches can help or disable the player.

and Print screen for screenshot!

Then go to your game directory (probably C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942) and look in your ScreenShots directory. They'll be in .tga format so you'll need something that will display those if you don't already have something.

One program that will do it is IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/), it's free and handles just about any file format you want.

If you use it, you'll need to change one setting to read tga files properly. I learned from this site that when it's open, go to Options --> Properties/Settings. Click the Viewing tab. Uncheck the box next to "Show TGA/DDS alpha/transparent color." Click OK. Close and reopen Irfanview and try again.

Beav you are saying all I have to do is hit the "Prnt Scrn" button at the top next to my "Num Lk" button and viola .. There is a screenshot which in turn I will use Swanny's advice to view and post should I find it necessary.

Wow .. if that is all another button I have NEVER used on this keyboard LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Actually, you didn't mention anything about posting. We'll see if we can come up with a good tutorial for how to host/upload/link images.

I'd really recommend downloading Fraps to take screenshots... On my keyboard, you have to press shift and printscreen to take one which is really hard to do on the fly while playing. Fraps lets you take screenshots by just pressing F10 and stop/start recording movies by pressing F9. Movies and screenshots are automatically saved to their respective folders inside the Fraps folder... very convenient.

Question ... if I have several screen shots but not the right program to read them. I assume I can send em in and someone in the admin shop would be able to read em? They are of the sub BMP discussion actually

Bomba and Jaro pull this crap all the time. Glitching and then retreating as soon as they are called on it. I think it's just in their nature to use map exploits. Although I do not have screen shots I have witnessed them engaging in this behavior on a regular basis. Next I see them, I'll try to get a screenie...
