1. Virgil's
2. Bundaberg
3. Sprecher
4 and on: I.B.C., Dad's, A&W, etc. - they all kind of taste the same to me.

I have never had any of the top 3 you mentioned but there was one my daughter and I picked up at World Market called Bulldog and it would probably be my #1

2. I will say A&W out of the tap at Long John Silvers is something to talk about though. Man it is good in that frosted mug. So it would definitely be high on the list.

To go with your "all kind of taste the same" .. Hires and Mug.

Many of the brewers (beer that is) brew their own rootbeer also so you might be interested in this site as it showcases many if not all the brands ????

Bundaberg makes root beer and ginger beer. Ginger beer is not, I repeat - NOT - root beer.

What's a hot dog if it's not made of a dog?

Root beer isn't ginger beer, ginger beer isn't root beer - they're just two different things.

Here are the ingredients for Virgil's:
Purified Carbonated Water, Unbleached Cane Sugar, Anise From Spain, Licorice From France, Vanilla (Bourbon) From Madagascar, Cinnamon From Ceylon, Clove From Indonesia, Wintergreen From China, Sweet Birch From The Southern US, Molasses From The US, Nutmeg From Indonesia, Pimento Berry Oil From Jamaica, Balsam Oil From Peru, cassia Oil From China

Target has that stuff, and you can buy syrup for $5 and a bottle of soda water for $1.

I buy the energy one and just take a shot of the syrup because I'm cheap and impatient.
