Researching New PC Parts

Post by Jump3rRay »

I am most likely going to get a substantial settlement from my employer and workman comp insurance. If I do I will be looking at getting a top notch PC built. I hear a lot about ssd drives and I am looking at getting a system with raid, dual vid cards, etc. specifically for gaming and BF4. Recommendations welcome and links to information as well please.

Have a great day

So does that mean price is out of the question now for your keyboard? ;)

LOL Could be bro. Depends upon how much I get. 4 years of pain and suffering, 4 surgeries so far. Waiting on a 5th to hopefully get rid of the pain. We shall see bro. We shall see.

Well best of luck. You could always go to those pain clinics that give out Oxy's and Hydro's like it was in a Pez dispenser :31:  I do not know enough about PC's to give you any advice so I will leave you alone and let the ones that do speak up. Good luck again.

I'm running a great deal on by back computer. You do have some 5" floppies right? It may take a year to transfer but you can catch up on your reading.

This is one expensive setup. If all you're going to be doing is gaming and internet browsing then the 32 gigs of ram is overkill. And where is the OS?

I would also consider dropping the dual 760s and maybe get a single 780 or 780 Ti for a little extra.

You're also overpaying for the SSD. You can pick
up the 1TB Samsung Evo on Amazon for $529.99 - http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electroni ... amsung+ssd

Shop around before you order and make sure you're getting the best deal possible.

I would recommend not buying a tb of ssd for at least another 2 years. Instead you should find a 120gig and use that.

Don't sli graphic cards unless the cards you are sli'ing are shit, it's just an industry scam to get people to buy double cards thinking the output will be twice as good, graphic cards are now beyond the games that are being published due to consoles creating a cap on how well games can be made, what technology is lacking right now is processors, the best one right now is the i73770k but this was just released last year I believe. it would be best to save your money until the next tech leap in two years, buy an average computer 660ti is probably 150-200$ now, it gets 110fps on high.

Getting a good new computer should only cost you between 1000-1400(that includes a new monitor) any more and you are overpaying

My current system is 3 years old and I have to run bf4 multiplayer on low graphics settings. So once I get my settlement I want to build a new system.

Current system:
MSI 970U-G55 (MS-7599) Motherboard - AMD
AMD Phenom II X4 955
DDR3 1066 (Unganged mode 64-bit) 16gb ram
WD 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM
AMD 6870 1gb video card

Maybe I will go with a 10000 rpm 1tb drive. I have been thinking about raiding drives. Not sure if that will give me a better response or not though.
