ok gaming nerds..suggest a pc..has to be a dell
My box is on it's last leg...but has served me very well for 11 years. I'm not a total idiot about computers, but I'm not sure about every friggen thing on these anymore.
I have no use for HD, or to be part of a entertainment ensemble...but 5 years from now that might be the norm so I don't rule it out either.
I had a Nvidia video card originally...but couple years ago it puked and now I have a ATI Radeon...I have liked the driver support for the Radeon a hell of a lot more than Nvidia.
I created this:

and a few other things like software for about 1700.00
Here is a link to the box it's gonna be put in..http://www.dell.com/content/products/pr ... &~lt=popup
I know I could probably save a few hundred bucks if I were to have someone build it...but I have credit with Dell... and to be quite honest this has been a great computer over all.
I plan to hopefully play this game with less lag, return to TS...and plan to get the new battlefield. This is also our main computer so I will need it for porn and taxes.
Any suggestions on things I might not need, or things I will want to be better now because 5 years from now I will need alot of it?
I'm not real smart on how many core things I might want in 2016, or what a DDR is ..and I have no idea what DIMM is??? I mean cmon...what is all this crap anymore. :ugeek:
Anyway there is my approx budget..if you have a suggestion for better build then please post up a link or something from dell and I will check it out. just remember I want a big ass monitor and need some software so keep build in the 1200.00 range so I can add my stuff and still be within a reasonable amount.
Thanks in advance.

Next time try putting them in your mouth.AIDS wrote:I just pooped a few painkillers.
Good luck with the tooth, by the way.
Tim, I've had good luck with the Dell Outlet (some refurbs but mostly canceled orders or scratch n' dent). The price is right. Two downsides - you can't customize and stuff only stays in your cart for 15 minutes due to the high rate of turnover.
http://www.dell.com/outlet
You can go here, change the memory to 8 GB and the video to 1024 and see what they have:
http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSale ... l=en&s=dfh
It changes a LOT so you might see exactly what you want tomorrowor in 20 minutes, it just depends. Note - these do NOT come with monitors.
Anyway, there you go.

Good post Swanny I like what I see. Since I just got a gigantic monitor and my pc is on it's last legs I am thinking of upgrading in 4 - 6 months or so. I have added this link to my bookmarks. ThanksSwanny-CG wrote:

Tooth aches, earaches, headaches, and some back aches - all stuff you can't get away from. Get that taken care of, at least it's one that you CAN get taken care of.AIDS wrote:The past few days has been hell. I don't care what anyone says, a tooth ache sucks.
Tom Hanks used an ice skate and a rock in Castaway. That's what a real man would do.
Seriously, I hope it feels better soon.

Re: ok gaming nerds..suggest a pc..has to be a dell
If you want retail Dell, I think I would go with this one for the Intel processor. Note that they are listing a 20% off coupon and a free shipping coupon. They should work on the build you have listed too.
If it were my money, I'd upgrade the graphics card to the 5870. If not that one at least the 5770. I'd also spend the extra money for the U2410 monitor. It's awesome...and pricey. If image quality isn't important to you though, skip it. Lot's of reviews around if you are interested.

Re: ok gaming nerds..suggest a pc..has to be a dell
Thanks for all the input thus far...that is a great option Swanny that I didn't even know existed.
I prefer to have a Intel vs the AMD so I might just shop and wait...I probably won't actually pull the trigger on a puter til the end of summer but at least now I have a better idea of what and where.
as long as I can run DC and not struggle running the the New Battlefield than I will be happy.
Now to see if I can get my sound working again....DC is almost impossible to play without sound.
