Are you sure its your GPU? There are easy ways to find out. If it's your card and not something else, I might be able to hook you up.
Is your card a 6600 GT? A quick search shows it was produced in both AGP and PCI flavors. If your card is PCI and actually dead, I have a card for you.

Do'h, my previous post was inaccurate. The 6600GT can be either AGP or PCIe. I have a PCIe card if he needs it.Lt.Dangle wrote:im pretty sure his is pci maybe pci express.

Re: Graphic Card
OK, do me a favor and at least verify that your GPU is dead and it's not something else.
Your computer is booting, correct?
1) Check your cables. You never know...
2) Try re-seating the card and if that doesn't help, move the card to the other PCIe slot.
3) If you can, borrow a video card from somebody.
4) Hook your monitor up to another computer. Even a laptop would do.
Maybe somebody else will chime in with ideas...off the top of my head, the above suggestions should be able to confirm that your card is toast.
If it's your card, PM me your shipping info and I'll get it sent out.

Re: Graphic Card
I got dark screens a couple of times when I built my rigs. Turned out to be either cpu or RAM issues. Does the cpu fan run or get loose from the socket? Have you tried to re-seat the RAM sticks or boot with just 1 stick? Does the video card fan run? The best/easiest way would be try your card on a different computer or switch in a known working card as Payne said.
