Bulge, Cornered, Twin Rivers, First Light

Post by Southern Cross »

Hey guys, these maps has recently modded because of unbalance.

Bulge: Red needed to take all flags to reduce BLUE's ticket. Now, if RED take 4 flags, BLUE's ticket start reducing.

---updated on May 30
Changed the bleed. They are the list of area value.

AxisBase
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 30

AlliesBase
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 45

cammobunker
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 20

controlpoint city
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 30

bridgebunker
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 25

windmill
ObjectTemplate.areaValue 20
----

Cornered
: BLUE needed to take 4 flags to reduce RED ticket. Quite unfair. Now, when BLUE take 3 flags, RED's ticket start reducing.

Twin Rivers
: A little big change here. This map was unfair for BLUE because most of the flags were on RED's side.
Therefore the center flag moved to east of east.
There is no medic box&ammo. so I added supply point near the tallest cottage and 5 handweapons in northern cottage.

First Light
: I haven't seen BLUE win before.
SU-25 and A-10 was taken out temporary, then finally I saw BLUE won.
However, I heard a few people complain about removing SU-25,
so I gave them back (include A-10) on one condition; Their SU-25 is spawned only when blue take eastern flag.
Further more, southern flag is already BLUE's on the beginning of game.
Mig need to work well which holds the key to RED's win.
Supplementary, F-117A also spawn in BLUE main. But many players don't know how to use it.
F-117A's bomb fall so slowly and vertically, so drop bomb the moment you fly right above the target.

Thanks, Southern Cross

Lt.Dangle wrote:Cross, thank you for your thoughtful and time consuming efforts to bring balance and fairness to maps on the server. One of the things I really appreciate is that EA117 is always willing to try something new to create a positive gaming experience for eveyone. We all know how much it sucks to get mowed over by the opposing team, and some of those maps took SO long to get through. I might not agree with every change made (I'm not sure I understand why changing the bleed on Bulge was necessary), but I say "Hey, let's give it a shot!"

Thanks Again,

i agree with u on twin rivers, but bulge should get more modded. If possible move the flags around, take out apache and hind add blackhawk, also give red a helo but non spawn. give blue a few more armor, red seems to have more unless they get them from other flags? get rid of stingers, blackhawsk and other red helos can be taken out with armor and rpgs. vulcans and shilkas need to go too. kinda keep it more infrantry based. get rid of artillery, maps kinda small for them. put more weapon choices in boxes throughout the map. vss, 50 cal, rpgs, mp5s. this is a just a few suggestions on bulge, i got more suggestions on other maps, also need help with no fly zone modding flags around. so if southern, u can help me out id appreciate it.

Dangle,

I think I get the gist of what you're saying but a couple ideas:

-English is not Cross's native language. He does VERY well in my opinion translating what we say to his own language and back but you may want to take a few minutes and separate your points and clearly state them. As he (I think) uses an online translator to go back and forth, remember that spelling counts!)
-Cross is pretty careful about what he does and why, and usually has strong opinions about the changes he makes. Perhaps you can include both the change you propose and the reason, again, clearly stated.

Dangle, please don't misunderstand me - I'm NOT shitting on you or digging on your language, I'm only offering you a couple ideas to make your point clear, heard and effective. If you do end up working with him on some sort of project it will probably make your efforts more fruitful and productive.

Many times as we type stuff in the forums, email, chat or texts I think we lose some of our clarity in communication, and in most places it may not matter much. Here, I think it does.

Sorry Cross, forgot you dont kno english good. First off, on changing bulge, take out the apache/hind, add blackhawk/Mi8_Nospawn transport. Balance the amount of armor each team gets, for some reason red seems like they have more. Delete stingers, Blackhawks/Mi8 can be shot down with tanks and rpgs, stingers would just be too easy to use to kill helos. vulcans/shilkas should be modded out. Artillery should go, map is kinda small for them. Add around the map weapon boxes, so their will be more of a variety of weapons to use. Their is two area's on the map, i shouldnt have to point out, that never gets any action. If the flags could get moved around a bit, or add 2 flags(possibly make it more difficult for each team to win), or even give blue a un-capturable flag might be cool. That should be it on that map. thanks, Dangle

I agree with removing stinger and add Blackhawk and Mi8.
Concerning weapon boxes, we can add weapon but "Box" doesn't appear...
Flags can be moved but can't add. It is possible for flag BLUE's base to be incapturable
Please see this picture for reference.
This is my modded bulge for example when I had run "Human vs Bot server" 3 years ago.
How do you replace flags to make games better?
Bulge.jpg
It's true that I use translator(sometimes)... It's difficult for me to understand spoken language or colloquial language.
Thanks for write in plain language.

That actually looks pretty cool. well, in my mod of no fly zone, I changed out the planes added blackhawks and apaches. Added tanks and other transports. I made it to were its based on infrantry, with transport of helos and vehicles. I want the flag to be moved to the little villages on the map. The flags in reg no fly zone are just floating in the air. I think it be very interesting map to play, be something like mounting fighting.

Do you want me to mod Bulge by your ideas?
There is no guarantee that people will like it because they are big changes compared with my 4 recent modded maps.
They dislikes their vehicles taken out.

Have you already modded No Fly Zone? If so, I wanna see it 8-)

is it possible to change the f117 bombs to cluster bombs? maybe make it easier for dropping bombs. or maybe add harrier with cluster bombs.

Well you can change bullets and projectiles serverside , I assume that you should be able to change the bombs aswell (have only done this clientside not serverside), the only thing thou with changing projectiles is that its not seen by the clients (players). So it would prob upset some ppl if they see the f1117 dropping its bomb and then the next thing they know their getting killed by a "invisable" projectile.

but it would make bombing easier in f117, instead of tryin to perfect the bombing of the f117 with its original bomb. i would bet alot people would agree if its on the map, and a boost in speed would definately help it out 2

Am I the only one that doesnt mind flying the F117 ???? Maybe its because it is different and that is what I love about this game .... The versatility. How many games can you fly a 130 then the F16 then the apache and the jump in a F117 ... NONE ... This is it. Some call it useless, I call it a challenge and fun. But dont worry about me perfecting anything   I am terrible at all aspects of this game.
