Same here. Make sure and go in there on the 27th and reserve the name(s) you want.
My order said this:
"Additional Product Information: Battlefield 3™ Pre-order Promotion - Play4Free Beret and Gun -
- Go to the Battlefield Play4Free website - Login with the same account you used for pre-ordering Battlefield 3 - If you are a new player, you must create an account and a soldier (otherwise just log in!) - Click the My Stuff -> Rewards menu item - Claim your beret and shotgun!"
I'm doing it - since I log in as myself, maybe that name is reserved for Opening Day?
Well if they make you do it in-game the same way as the site, each player has a different name and class and you can only have so many?
I don't know WTF is up with it but it pissed me off while I was checking it out. Just sayin' - be careful. At least on the P4F side they didn't do much to explain, and then I was stuck as recon by accident.
What are your Origin names to add as friends? I tried looking in the previous threads but I didn't see anything for sure and I couldn't find Err0r.

If that's the case you all better get busy ... I hope what I think I'm reading is wrong.

This is from the BF3 FAQS section.
WILL MY STATS CARRY OVER FROM THE BETA TO THE FINAL GAME?
NO. WE ARE STILL FINE TUNING THE RANKING SYSTEM AND WE DON’T WANT TO GIVE BETA PLAYERS AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE WHEN BATTLEFIELD 3 LAUNCHES. YOU WILL KEEP YOUR SOLDIER NAME, THOUGH.
Dude I'm telling you this shit is COMPLICATED, at least for me. Names here, keys there ... I got in the game and I don't know what the goddamned hell I'm doing. I gotta go buy a mic and joystick for home ...
I think it's dumbed down for the pre-release maybe? Left alt should be VOIP but I don't know if it works - also, I can spot stuff with the Q key but I can't figure out how to manage my squad with it, like "Go here."
