CQ Maps, First impressions.
Re: CQ Maps, First impressions.
I think that scrapyard is cool.......lots of machine tools that I am accustomed to.
The detail in the maps is crazy.

The new maps are great. Much larger than I anticipated. It's not the 320/nade/rpg fest I figured it would be. And with Gun Master, it makes it all the more challenging. I'm having a blast with them and am pleased to see them available on our server at times.
Re: CQ Maps, First impressions.
Love me some Gun Master. Scrapmetal is actually my least favorite map; not because the map itself sucks, but because the spawns are TERRIBLE. I can't tell you how many times I spawned into the game next to multiple enemies or started the game in what appeared to be an ENEMY spawn point surrounded by 10 red Doritos.
Also, EA promoted the hell out of the "improved destruction" in the CQ maps, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed. There's one map, I believe Operation 925 (9-to-5, get it?), where you can blow some serious holes in drywall, but on the whole, there's a ton of places that don't even lose paint on the walls or floor/ceiling tiles when grenades/rockets/bullets get shot at them. However, if we hadn't already been spoiled by Destruction 3.0 in the rest of the game, I would be thoroughly impressed by Close Quarters in this regard because it all looks so beautiful.
For everyone out there drawing comparisons between COD and Close Quarters, all I can say is this: It's the best damn COD I've ever played.

Not as advertised. With the random spawning the maps feel like 10v10 at most. And who puts a gernade launcher as the last weapon on gun game! (can someone run into my grenade please ). They're cool but I'm hoping to see the large scale bf maps back soon.

Re: CQ Maps, First impressions.
I like the new maps because they're new. Out of all the modes of the new expansion pack I like Gun Master the best.
We'll only run the expansion sometimes in the morning but stick with our regular rotation during the afternoon/night.

I agree with mikey in saying that the 'destruction' level is very disappointing seeing is how they really touted it up. Operation 925 is the best map. And Scrap Metal is nice for knives...so many ninja stair jumps!!! Like the new modes both are awesome.
But seriously DICE....I used 50 packs on a plant and all it did was crack the side.....COME ON
