Hey guys I need some help.

I know this is not normal to do on a forum but I really need your advice on a serious problem:
I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on
me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs
up; she goes out with the girls a lot. I try to stay awake to look out
for her when she comes home but I usually fall asleep.
Anyway last night about midnight I hid in the shed behind the boat.
When she came home she got out of someone's car buttoning her blouse,
then she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on. It was
at that moment crouched behind the boat that I noticed a hairline
crack in the outboard engine mounting bracket.
Is that something I can weld or do I need to replace the whole bracket?

Holy crap dude! What an awful situation! Is there any reason she would be fooling around? Are you not home a lot and she's bored? I always look for motive before trying to defuse a situation. Without getting too personal, how has life been with her prior to this fallout? Having talked to you many times over TS, I feel like we're great friends. It truly hurts to hear this happen to you. I want to wring her neck! Before blowing up on her I'd get some evidence. Something like you did by the boat except get it on video with your phone or something. This way she cannot refute your claims. Wow man...

As for your boat, well it seems pretty trivial at this point to talk about with this other issue looming. I was always told the weld should be the strongest point. So if it's welded properly it should break at the bolt next.

I think I broke a leaf spring the other day, just wondering how noticeable it is.

Yea it did. As luck would have it, I have a few leaf springs in the bed of the truck. Stop by, again, and we can throw them on. Are you good at welding?

awww Stu - you sorry sob.... you had me till the last lines, but I know you know metals and welding better than to ask about that silly bracket - for one thing, what good redneck welder 'asks' if it can be welded before giving it a couple attempts at varying temps.... If you would have asked about a hairline crack around the whole lower unit that was leaking oil and curious about welding that then you may have got me - but not some silly metal bracket...
