Switch to BF3

Post by Hav3n »

Hey guys...I've been playing DC since forever. (well...2007-8 maybe?) I've got a Macbook Pro from around that time period and so I've only been able to play Battlefield 1942 and DC smoothly. I've been thinking about getting a new PC tower and playing BF3. BF4 is coming this October I hear?

I do video/graphics work as well and all the Adobe stuff I use is GPU accelerated with nVidia cards, and I hear they're adding openCL stuff which is what Radeon cards do, right?

But anyways, BF3...thoughts on resources to rely on as I build a budget-ish machine to play on?

I'm in the middle of ordering parts to a build a gaming pc for a friend of mine. I also built the one I use to play BF3. I didn't know a damn thing about building computers and learned everything I needed to know from http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc. They have a lot of resources and guides. They also do a pretty good job about getting the best bang for you buck. But sometimes the people there can be kind of douchey.

Another great site is http://pcpartpicker.com/. You can save builds and compare prices here.

Good Luck

Awesome, thanks. I had someone mention http://www.tomshardware.com/ as well.

Looks like plenty of resources.
