Remove Market Garden after Al Nas. Pick whatever else, just not MG. Thanks.

Not so much a rotation request but...

If the trend continues with a good player base around 8:00 central, could the admin team place some of the lesser played maps in rotation to suite the increase in pop?

First light (cq and ctf), cornered, bragg, easting, medina (cq), phillipines, britain ctf...

I simply request they be set. If the player base votes them out for nas/lost/edge, so be it.

I think people join because of those maps (al nas, LV, berlin, etc)
I know I do. i wouldn't join in phillipines or some other massive map was on.
Only have a small piece of time each day to play. I want action and I WANT IT NOW! (thus the small map bias).

I would say you are 100% right pistol.
Nas is probably the best seeding map on the server. What I am requesting is that once the population has already been built, we try some lesser played large maps.
And as stated before, if the majority does not like the big map popping up, it can be voted out.

lol ryeocracy voting is active but dont keep voting like a mad dog it ticks me off like mosquitos in a tent...i find some enjoy that little variance of the odd map thats not al nas....knowing full well al nas and berlin will be on soon...i know you opinion pistol cause your more vocal some are not and just leave if we play alnas 24/7 ...when you guys have time and there is few on we should rescope maps to play when theres more players...sometimes you can be surprised on how well some maps function better with 20-30 and really suck with 5-10 and add some variety after say our 10 oclock al nas fest

Hey admins
how about we change map rotation a little
its really boring to play berlin al nas LV bashra stalin in this order
lets shake it

my suggestion

berlin ctf
bocage day 2 ctf
urban siege DCF cq
al nas ctf
el ala ctf
bashra ctf
etc...
we only play first 4 maps from this rotation
it would be so much better to play other maps too
not just al nas all day

feedback is always welcome, mali. all that we ask is that, instead of saying, "Don't do [a,b,c]", you instead phrase it as, "I propose a change to [x,y,z]." That makes it more constructive and helpful to your own argument.

Thumbs up for entertaining the idea.

Mali,
A couple of considerations for you...
Rotation doesn't often get followed due to map voting and the popular vote being Nas, LV, Berlin. Also, some of those maps are broken such as Urban CTF and Coastal CTF. I'm with you as far as feeling the regular night lineups are getting stale but I think the admin team moreso need to take a leap of faith when there is a good population going early on in the night and try running some almost never played maps such as sanchez requested.

Sevigon: Sea Rigs is actually amazing once you spend a little time to learn the layout of the rigs. There is a physical map inside each rig that helps a lot with navigation. When I first started playing on this server in ~2005, I remember DC Sea Rigs came right after DC Urban Siege. I used to quit immediately after Urban since I hated Sea Rigs so much. Now that I've learned some of its intricacies, it's one of my favorite maps! Hope it can become that for you too. Growth mindset!

PSA to all readers: The admin team is trying to figure out the best way forward with respect to map rotation. Expect an update in the near future. Please appreciate that it is impossible to satisfy everyone but we are doing the best we can to maximize happiness of the players :)

Jolly,

My 2 cents here... Bringing back voting with an entire map pool was a great decision here. I don't think you should ever permanently disable it again. I will go as far as saying it helped revitalize the server a bit. I'm one of those tired of Nas LV Berlin Edge repeat, but still enjoy the game and will play them.
I think admin intervention is the way to go here. A couple of weeks ago we had back to back to back CQ maps (Bulge and don't remember the rest). Whatever they were, it was a change and was a blast. Take the gamble when pop is good and toss on lesser played maps.

Nas should be played only 1 time per night.....if it is being played, and draws more people in, then perhaps add more time or ask the server if they would like a restart.
I have lost count the amount of times we play it.......move on to a different map, and then right toward the end of that map, Nas gets spammed in the map voting.
Spam voting for 1 map is not only annoying, but selfish. Some of us like a variety between infantry and vehicle based maps. Ive lost count the amount of times i have seen peeper trying to vote for something other than inf maps, and it never happens.


I like the fact that Jolly will get on mchat to announce we are about to play Nas.......BUT....no one will see that unless they log on the forum.

Jolly does a fair job of Djaying the maps.
Setting the time limits.
We just have so fewer players these days that it is difficult to run some maps

The server rotation has been edited for smaller maps.
Larger maps are still available by request.

As always, please remember that voting is an option should you not care for the map being played.
Like everything in a democracy, if you want to see change then get out and vote!
