FYI - It was brought to my attention while playing El Alamein CTF last night, that there was no way to heal the little birds.

That issue has been resolved and the update has been applied to the server.
Each hangar will heal their respective little bird.
The Harrier can be healed at the hanger regardless of ownership.

Thanks,

Mali,

I figured out the mystery spawn points with Al Khafji docks.
Those outlying spawn points were only included in the DCF version.
So far, I've been building my files from DC and pushing to DCF
This was a true DCF mod.
I've commented out the random spawn to the Red and Blue outlying bases and added a separate, white dot so that players will have to (or want to) select it to reach those spawn points.

Other than that, this map has always been good in its original CTF configuration.
With this small change, it makes the map more enjoyable to play.
It is our new Al Khafji Docks!

I'm doing my best to figure out how to mod all of "your" weapons to shoot cheesesticks.
When I get that done, I'll think about your request.

Squeeky duck would be nice... but tona can only work with objects that are already in the game.

So a continuous stream of the parachute flatulence will have to do...

I've been extremely ill the past couple of weeks including a nice stay at the hospital for a couple of days.
I'm home getting well.
I'll be back soon.
I opened up the modding folders today to see what I can work on to get my mind focused again.

Look out for a new mod release.
Desert Shield CTF
It doesn't look like the Desert Shield you've known in the past. This is all about small land vehicles that can handle the flat, desert floor.
No jets, no armor.
There are several small helos, a Hind and an Apache, but this is NOT a helo war map by any stretch.
Give it a chance and please, feedback is always welcome but please post it in a constructive way so that I can improve things.

Thanks,

I'm working on a smaller infantry CTF version for Coastal Hammer. Action takes place just in the city. As you can see from the pic the two main bases are the factory and a building I created to the south. The "hotel" near the church is a cappable midpoint flag where players can spawn. I'm thinking of putting just hummers (with that heli chain gun) and ladas that blow up.

I removed much of the icky buggy bits in the middle. In the normal map its hard to navigate and easy to get lost. I removed the annoying buggy stairs and removed many obstacles that slowed people down.

At the moment I have a parachuting spawn on the south base, but might change that to the middle one like in the recent Stalingrad upgrade which works well.

I like the variation of the flag being moved back to the Iraqi base. I liked it at the church too, I'm on the fence with this one.

Updated version of Coastal CTF.

I put 2 control points in the middle of the map. I also put more houses around the outside from which to snipe from. I'm putting two 50 cal sniper rifles in hidden locations at either end of map. No tanks, just infantry, hummers/technicals and snipers.

There is a new mod release.

I know Bocage isn't a favorite of all, but it does offer some good gameplay.

I"ve redone this map from the ground up.
There is a little of everything in it and something for everyone to do.
The main feature was the moving of Red Flag from the Church to the health building.
I've also provided get-a-ways at Blue main.
Where the water canals were once an obstacle, it is now navigable. Don't underestimate that potential.
I've dialed back the full-sized helos and returned the stinger to the smaw and rpg kit respectively.
All vehicles hold the glass bottom fix (including soldiers...yes, you can jump off a building and not die) I will be applying this to many maps now since one misstep of 2 feet can kill you...really dumb.

The car bomb enthusiast will be happy as well as the snipers.
The WWII birds are tweaked to a sweet delight (i love the mustang)
Check it out for yourself and please offer either constructive criticism or suggestions for modifications.
I will entertain all. Keep in mind...not every map is a favorite.

I've been working on Bunkers for some time setting it aside for a while.
I promised Rye a helo pilot's delight, which I will do now, and then finish the new weapons bunkers..
Mali is really riding me on that one...

Thanks Tona. The map rotation has been edited so that now the DC_Final versions of Bocage Day 2 are what's in the rotation & map vote list, instead of the DesertCombat versions. So any time we want to get to this one it should be easy now, and won't need an admin.

I know you're not pushing...I'm just using you to push me.

I forgot about the weapons wall suggestion. You mentioned that before.
I'll add the needed weapons.

Besides bunkers, what would you like to see modded?

If RPGs are available at flags that makes it almost impossible to steal, meaning soccer style nil all deadlocks every game. The only chance a person with high ping can steal a flag is if the enemy has no rpg, or the rpgs guys are dead. The suggested change will dramatically make Berlin CTF less fun for them and shooting fish in a barrel boredom for high pingers. As it stands, the defenders use RPGs/AT wep and attackers dont. It works great as it is.

Do you mean you made the river banks less steep?

"All vehicles hold the glass bottom fix"

What does that mean?

First, If I modded the banks, it wouldn't work server-side without a patch.
What I meant was that the canals were just objects that you had to get around. Many of the banks you couldn't get up on foot. They were obstacles.
I've added rafts with multiple seating so that the water-ways can be used for travel.
If you have to bail out of a helo or plane with the flag you might get lucky and be able to drop in on a raft and keep the gameplay moving with the flag. If you want to sneak in behind blue main...
Also, there is a wide river that runs along the entire northern edge of the map.
I'm actually going to add a couple more ground vehicles near the banks.

tona said: "All vehicles hold the glass bottom fix"
CJ (Crash) wrote:What does that mean?
Land vehicles in DC are notorious for blowing up simply going down a hill and hitting bumps and such.
Originally, it was Humvee that gave the most trouble. It was deemed a "glass-bottomed" vehicle because it was so fragile.
This fix, removes that fragility. It can be applied to most any land vehicle and even on soldiers.
I have applied it to soldiers on Bocage. I intend on adding it to almost every mod I do.
Why should we die from simply stepping down off something 2 feet high? In Bocage you can jump down from the roof of a building and not die. You will take damage, but not die. Now, if you're two stories up...maybe not so much.
