Its Cesar Season!

Post by HairyRussianDude »

For my American friends who haven't heard of cesars, you need to try one while kicking back in your yard this summer!

You will need:
- Vodka (preferably Absolut)
- Clamato juice (preferably Mott's)
- Cesar rimmer (preferably Matt and Steve's Cesar Rimmer, or you can make your own! Recipes online.)
- Lime juice
- Tobasco sauce
- Worcestershire sauce
- Pureed horseradish
- Ice cubes

To make:
- Pour about a 1/4'' of lime juice into a small bowl.
- Take a tall glass and place rim down in lime juice to moisten rim.
- Dip moisten rim into cesar rimmer and twist glass to coat entire rim in rimmer.
- Put 3 or 4 ice cubes in glass.
- Add 1 tsp of pureed horseradish.
- Add tobasco to taste. (I do about 8 drops in a tall glass.)
- Add worcestershire to taste. (I throw about 5 splats in.)
- Add 2 oz of vodka.
- Top up with clamato juice, leaving room to stir.
- Stir until horseradish distributed evenly.
- Pop in a straw.
- Lick rimmer, take sip, get drunk.
- Ask spouse for a rimmer after 4 cesars.

You're welcome!

I love the rimmer joke at the end. It's like I didn't know I was going to get it so that when I finally did I really earned it.

That said. This drink is complicated AF, sounds like it'd burn my mouth off, and ice cubes don't exist in my section of the woods. I'll take beers sitting in the creek or my fancy whiskey I splurged on with my unemployment money.

Yeah it isn't as easy as cracking a beer Blink, but you need to try one sometime!
If your mouth is a wimp with spice, follow "add to taste". This is just how I do them.

I actually saw dill pickle vodka on the shelf the other day, and just shuddered and said "those guys down in Austin are running out of ideas for vodka flavors." But now I know.

Agreed on how brand can make all the difference. I like how blood orange, green apple and cranberry go together, but there is only one cranberry -- some local, store-brand Albertson's stuff -- that works. Everyone else's -- even the "lite" and no-sugar versions -- still attempt to be "sweet" rather than "cranberry". Throws the whole thing off in a different direction.

Hey, wait a minute.... where the F did you get that hat??!? 😜

One of the HHD guys was talking about pickle juice in his vodka… I’d probably stay clear of it… 🤪

Ah yes, our namesake. The EA117 founders were so enamored with mid-century modern office furniture, they built a game server around it.
