Map cycle

Post by combatbooot »

Hi I usually get on the server at the same time every night. But I havent been on as much recently because the server seems to be cycling the same maps at the same every night when I get on. I noticed last week I got on at a different time, different maps were being run, of course. So if any server admins are reading this, is there any way that maybe once a week or so that the maps cycles could be changed up, or reset or whatever so the same maps arent played at the same time everyday?
Anyway with that said, this is the only server I like to play in, I love that this server even exists. I just recently reinstalled BF1942 maybe a month ago or so, after probably 4 yrs or so. Was so excited to play every night after I got off work, until the whole map cycle thing started to wear on me. :(

Welcome to the forums Combatbooot,

I will discuss it with the team and see if we can maybe change some maps around, not making any promises though.

I agree with booot, I rarely get to play rigs, wake, or LV. Plus it hasn't been changed in a while...

Was thinking the same thing just last night, you're not alone.

A simple fix would be adding or subtracting one map from the rotation.

It was being changed not too long ago with new maps like Operation Bragg (?) and others. Then it stopped. Maybe have have two rotations that alternate. They current line up and a new one with fresh maps that also contains some of the most popular maps from the current line up.

We did a little rearranging. We like the tank maps but know that some of you sorry soldiers like the troop maps so we (grudgingly) left them in :)

We tried to alternate them a bit, although we have more tank maps than troop maps, so we did our best to make sure no one is stuck with a long string of maps they think are crap.

For today it's:
dc_basrahs_edge
dc_battle_of_73_easting
wake
tobruk
dc_urban_siege
dc_desertshield
dc_lostvillage
dc_medina_ridge
battle_of_the_bulge
inshallah_valley
dc_weapon_bunkers
guadalcanal
dc_sea_rigs
dc_oil_fields
gazala
omaha_beach
el_alamein
dc_no_fly_zone_day2

I know some people won't like it. We figured out a long time ago that someone is always going to be unhappy. We think this is a good compromise for now. Map additions are a whole "nother" issue.

That looks like a good combo. how about adding docks instead of LV or Rigs?

How about Iwo instead of Gaudal canal?

Still a good rotation it looks to me though :)

I'll take a look at AKD and see if there are any issues - I know we have no bubble for that map right now.

I should have mentioned that while the rotation is changed, it will not take effect until the server is restarted. Probably the next time it crashes ... :)
