Windows 7
Windows 7
I am one of the many users who suffer random crashes when a map is being loaded up, believed to be caused by Vista, As this isnt the only game i experience problems with I'm either going to get Windows 7 or downgrade back to XP...
Does anyone currently run BF on Windows 7 and experience any problems with it??

Re: Windows 7
I've heard that people running Win 7 are getting the same crashes as people with Vista.

This worked for Baron, but hasn't work at all for me.
As stated above, this makes the crashes less frequent but doesn't stop them.
IMHO the best OS platform for DC is XP.

Re: Windows 7
I have been running win 7 64 bit since release. Comp sp3 mode solved the crashes for me, no crashes since. The ATI 58XX drivers are glitchy meaning while changing views at times vehicles are not redrawn can be a real pain at times. Another thing I noticed was punkbuster serviceb initialization failing even after manual pb updating and reinstalling. I suspect the punkbuster serviceb is not real stable in win 7 64 bit. i.e. I don't leave my computer on for weeks at a time any longer or restart the punkbusterb service before playing seemed to resolve this particular issue.
XP was the OS this game/engine was written for.... I found dual booting xp and win 7 64 was a pain not really worth the hassle.

every once in a while i get that too with an Nvidia, I've herd of all kinds of people with the same problem on all types of cards, seems more like a random bug in the game. I think it happens a lot when going back and forth between views and also using a scope/zoom. I'm sure you probably know this but I just change to a different view and change back and it's fixedDenny Crane wrote: The ATI 58XX drivers are glitchy meaning while changing views at times vehicles are not redrawn can be a real pain at times.

I think anything 64 bit will be a problem. I get crashes with Vista 64. Seems to come in waves. Anyone running Windows 7 32 bit and having crash problems?
