My GF Hacked me

Post by MOJORyder »

So my girlfriend's Honda is in the shop for the 5th time in six months (she bought it new 6 months ago), thing is a pile of crap... OK, fair enough...but I've been teasing her to just get a Dodge, get rid of the pain and humiliation of owning (and pushing) a Honda..

so she just called me... to tell me... she just bought..a... Dodge Challenger.

Bitch. Life isn't fair.. I WANT THE CHALLENGER!

5.0L Ford HiPo motor? Seriously Aids... kiddy stuff. Hell, Dodge's smallest power motor (2.4L Turbo 4I) blows it's doors off stock.

1993 Mustang
http://musclecarfacts.net/1993-mustang.html

0-60 8.1 secs
1/4 mi 16.1@ 85.1 mph
BhP 205

Or, if you prefer the Mustang Cobra for 1993

0-60 6.0 secs
1/4 mi 14.6@95.6 mph
BhP 240

2005 Dodge Neon SRT4
http://www.modernracer.com/dodgeneonsrt4.html

0-60 mph : 5.6 sec.
0-¼ mile : 14.2 sec @ 102.0 mph
BhP 230

The Mustang, while I do like them and would enjoy owning one (and have owned two) just isn't the power tool you'd hope it to be.

I'd put any MoPar against any Ford, any day of the week. Class for class, MoPar rules the day.

the true race has always been between Dodge and Chevy.. Ford is just an also ran, so to speak. fine cars..but not so much fast ones.

that all said, I had a blast getting sideways around Torrance last night...a real friggin blast :)

lol you are so sadly mistaken buddy. And they did stop making the Mustang...unless you really want to call the Mustang II a Mustang?

A name does not make what a legend is.

lol Aids. OK.

How many years did Ford own the IROC title?(Dodge held it for 5 years)

How many years did Ford own the Trans Am Title?(Dodge held it for 6 years)

How many Fords have held the record at the Nurbergring? (Viper currently holds it, smoking the 2nd place ZR1 by over 3 seconds) http://www.motortrend.com/av/features/1 ... index.html

How many Stock Fords have broken 200 MPH? (first one for Dodge was the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona @ 221 MPH)

Every engine used in Nascar, NHRA and Indi/Formula racing have all been based off of one design since 1975. The Chrysler 426 Hemi. Yes, even your Ford's are using a Chrysler inspired engine.

The 3 fastest quarter mile cars ever made ( showroom stock) were:
1) 1964 Dodge Max Wedge 9.23 sec.
2) 1965 Chevy 454 9.33 sec.
3) 1965 Ford Falcon 9.51 sec.

Who sold the most muscle cars in February 2009? (HINT: It begins with a "D") :)

Right now, the Dodge Ram RT (not even the coming SRT10 for 2011) runs stock at 14.2 sec 1/4 miles. This is a work truck.

Ford GT40:
$139,000
0-60 3.3
1/4 12.2
Top 200 MPH

Viper ACR:
$98,110
0-60 3.1
1/4 11.07 http://www.dragtimes.com/Dodge-Viper-Ti ... 16606.html
Top 207 MPH

Now, you say they "needed" a 500CI V-10 to make that power, but what you fail to understand about engines is two things ..both very important :)
1) There is no replacement for displacement
2) The lower HP ratio per CI equals longer sustainable power range (aka: powerband) However, more importantly, CI = torque..it is inherent to engine size and not something possible in smaller discplacement engines.

Soo more power, longevity... you give up a few lbs, sure.. but with perfect balancing like the Viper has..let alone the Aero advantage the ACR gives..and it's game over.

Maybe in like.. another 40 yrs Ford can make a GT40 to compete again? Obviously the Mudstain ain't up to the task :)

Rubicon is the sh*t, I always thought is was just a name for people willing to pay more until my buddy bought one and we got hammered as owl sh*t driving down a pipeline one night. That thing went over stumps, trees, fences ,deer stands
and what I suspect was a very large dog or small calf.

Do you know for the Magnum, what the two recalls were? (I own one,so I know :) ) Both of the recalls were for engine compartment stickers showing wrong vacuum diagrams.
yes, a recall for a sticker in the engine bay.

So, perhaps you weren't paying attn to the Chrysler comment on this "report"?

Shawn Morgan, Chrysler's senior manager for Real Wheel Drive Communications, said this in response to the carmaker's five entries on our list: "A simple counting of safety recalls does not provide a meaningful assessment of a vehicle's performance for two reasons: One, common componentry accounts for several of the actions you have listed. For example, one recall action is a common component used on all five vehicles. You count it as five, while we count it as one. There are several other examples of this--Liberty has three recalls, with two being common, while Magnum has two recalls and both are common to other vehicles. Two, several of the recalls cited involve small numbers of vehicles; these issues were identified and addressed early through our rigorous internal monitoring processes. For example, of the two recalls for Caliber, one is less than 400 vehicles. Meaning they were identified early and fixed before significant numbers of vehicles reached the market. Early identification and action are goals of our internal monitoring processes."

She also noted that, "As for overall safety, these vehicles all meet or exceed all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Our vehicles have performed well in a variety of internal and external test conditions, including the government's frontal- and side-impact tests. Specifically, Nitro and Caliber received all 5-star ratings on NHTSA's front- and side-impact crash tests. Sebring, Magnum and Liberty received the highest rating, five stars, in three out of four categories of NHTSA's front- and side-impact tests.
