Admin needed for early morning hours

To all the admins offering their time to keep the game play going well, thank you.

Now on to my topic. I've been playing in the wee early hours lately as my schedule is out of whack. I've noticed that all the smacktards are hopping in and I think they know that there usually aren't any admins on during that time. My question is, can we get another admin to patrol that beat. I certainly know that you guys can't have 24 hour coverage, but if I keep playing during this time, I'm going to be reporting smacktards left and right. I don't know if this topic has been discussed before, but I just wanted to get everyones thoughts.

By the way, what are the requirements to apply to be an admin? About the only thing bad I do in game is maybe get banned for a moment for cursing. That can be corrected. If I continue to play during these hours, I would like to submit myself as a candidate for late night admin. I'm not requesting permission to perma-ban, just 1 minutes kicks and maybe the 3 day ban. I think the 3 day ban would only apply if we had several regulars as witnesses. As of right now, I've got to write down the players name, look up the hash and submit them for discipline. Then I get to go right back to having to play with them until the admins possibly take action. This is in know way criticizing the admins, it would just be nice to keep the game play nice and smooth. Sorry to ramble on. Thanks.

When i play in the morning (late time for you americans), i always witness players being noobs, driving tanks etc to the runway, TKing, etc. and ill always warn them not too. Even when admins are on, ill ask them to wdutp #39. etc.

Is there a way of giving a few people admin powers like, !wdutp !kick, etc. some of the basic commands?

I am with ya beav ... I get on alot at the same times you do I think ...Actually I play at all kind of times LOLOLOL .. just depends on when I am up. I have wondered the same thing but figured if they wanted more admins they would appoint them as they see necessary ... I continue to explain the rules to these people as needed and most of the time they will listen as some think I am an admin allready for some odd reason .. In fact I asked Colonel that the other day while playing as I have never given any inclination that I am an admin. Anyways I understand cause you get that douchebag that makes it a pain for everyone else playing.

We need to move one of the admins to Hawaii. That way they can cover the late-night west coast crowd and not be too worn out. Any current admins interested?

I really like the idea of just being able to warn someone and then kick them IF NEEDED. To be honest, I wouldn't wish it on anyone to have to admin. I figure that a few of the regulars would make an outstanding semi-admin(TM) when you guys are counting sheep. Obviously much oversight is required but I would trust about anyone who is not an admin and posted to this topic, to be a semi-admin(TM). I don't know if the whole semi-admin(TM) is doable but it would allow us to police the game during off peak hours. Thank you everyone for the input, it's really constructive and appreciated. The only thing that could possibly make this server better are three things:

1. 64 players.

2. DC Final (and maybe DCX) maps.

3. Admin/semi-admin(TM) coverage during off peak hours.

Even without those things, this is still the best damn server around. Sorry, I had to emphasize it!

gotta agree with this, you admins do a great job but there is a late night defeciency when aids or southern cross aren't playing. we could use the help, its been kinda ridiculous the past few nights.

I am one of them who should cover late at night because I live in Japan.
My main game time is 4 a.m.～7 a.m. PDT(21:00～24:00 JST）, but I'm a little busy recently so difficult for me to play everyday.

Anyway I'll try to stay on server as long as possible.

If an admin really is needed, I'd probably nominate Nightstalker, mostly because he tends to be helpful with answering questions knowledgeably on here, and as far as I have noticed, plays according to the rules. I have no idea if he's on at the times needed though.

Another thing I was thinking about (sort of just thinking out loud here), was that even if the admins don't feel like the addition of another admin is needed, maybe there would be some way to appoint temporary admins. Like how there is a map vote or kick vote on some servers sometimes, I wonder if it would be possible to make a way that players could vote in their own admin on a game-by-game basis. Sort of to just curb the anarchy when the real admins aren't on. I have no idea if this kind of mod is even possible, and realize that even if it is it would likely take some serious work (by the admins, but not for their benefit), but it's sort of just an idea I had.

An example scenario of how it might play out: Late night, no admins but plenty of regulars on. A couple dudes start tking and other nonsense. Someone starts a "nominate temporary admin" vote. If enough people vote for the same guy, he's got kick privileges for the rest of that game. Just an idea.

I wouldnt say its " really " bad, but you do get atleast 1 muppet on most days. saying that the other morning whilst i was on. there must have been about 3-5 idiots ruining it for others.
