widescreen

just bought myself a new monitor, as my old one went dead, and trying to play the game, its super streched. My question is, how do i stop this?

any advice would be great.

I would have to bet on the later or the two. All joking aside what resolution are you trying to run it at. Also what brand of monitor did you buy ... Might help narrow down some suggestions


One other thing ... Does your new screen make my butt look big

If its can help u, this is what I changed in my settings files. Its for 16/10 ratio in 1920*1200.

You can find these files in [ProgDirectory]\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\[ProfileNameDirectory]

Video.con :
game.setGameDisplayMode 1920 1200 32 60

VideoCustom.con
game.setGameDisplayMode 1920 1200 32 60

For be sure, I also put this values in Video.con and videocustom.con from [ProgDirectory]\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Default

And about aspect ratio, its in [ProgDirectory]\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings] in VideoDefault.con :
renderer.fieldOfView 1.2

Use 1.2 for 16/10 screen and 1.3333 if 16/9 .


Don't forget to put these file in read only mode to avoid accidental change
