Im a avid Desert Combat player and i find it kinda hard to compete when im using just the keyboard to fly the misc. aircraft in the game. Is a flight simulator joystick the best that I can buy or is a Game pad ( like playstation) better?

Re: JoyStick
I use both and find the joystick easier ... BUT I know people that using the mouse and keyboard and can hang with the best of them. I just like flying planes with a stick. Helos I use the mouse. The joystick that Beaver mentioned is a great one .. I had one originally only difference was it was wireless. Then I got the corded one and it wouldnt hold calibration. I did some reading and that is common but I know many people that have them and use them ALL the time. I went with the saitek cyborg and so far so good. Mad amount of buttons ... You can fit the joystick to your hand as it is adjustable in many many ways. Also has split throttles if you have any flight sims that allow twin engine throttle. ONLY thing that bugs me is I got used to the thumb button on the Logitec and these are harder to get to but that is very picky of me.

Re: JoyStick
I was using a DualShock2 which is controller of Playstation2 but it has broken now lol
In such a controller, it helps you to fly with plane, but probably not good for helicopter because it is difficult to stabilize helo body.
If you prefer helicopter to plane, I recommend you to use keyboard.
I know many aces using joystick like the Spec's.
So if you want to fly plane, that's my recommendation!

Re: JoyStick
i fly with a cheap joystick. Always have and they seem to work fine. Get yourself a good set of headphones, it will make a huge difference when your flying IMHO.
