EA 117 Gaming Community

I downloaded the Forbidden Valley map installer and ran it. Looked in my DC level folder and it is there. But when i try to connect it says map not found.

If you start a new local multiplayer game does the map load properly?

note that I said multiplayer, not singleplayer.

I went to start new local game and the map did not show up

If the map doesn't show up in game then it's not in the levels folder.... the game displays anything it finds in the levels folder even if it was a corrupt file and was in the levels folder it would usually show up. But since nothings showing sounds like nothing is in your levels folder.

if bf1942 is installed on your "C" drive then Browse to:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DesertCombat\Archives\bf1942\Levels

and make sure you can see the file "DC_Forbidden_Valley.rfa"
Also a common mistake could be that it's placed it in the "DC_Final" folder or the "bf1942" mod folders. I never use those map installers if I can help it i'd rather browse and place the map in manually by myself

That doesn't look right, your levels folder should have all of the DC maps and I only see forbidden valley in your levels folder. Do you have the map in the correct levels folder?

Does your path look like this?
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DesertCombat\Archives\bf1942\Levels\DC_Forbidden_Valley.rfa

I would suggest downloading the .rfa file by itself and manually placing the map in your levels folder. You used the installer so there might of been an issue with it. Just to be on the safe side, download the map file from here : http://www.box.net/shared/9iu6du39td

Remember, as Rally Monkey said earlier. make sure its installed in your correct folder: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DesertCombat\Archives\bf1942\Levels\
