A little river fishing .. another hobby of mine
Here is a few of the fish that I caught the other weekend ... I had a 2 maybe even 2 1/2 lb Smalljaw on but as the story goes he got off right before I could grab him. And what a fight with the 4'6" ultralight, microlight reel and 4lb test ... These were just some that I had to take a picture of and I am sure you can see why ... no not the size
I also caught what we call a Meanmouth which is a cross between a smallmouth and a Kentucky(Spot) .... Both are known for a fight and make for a really cool looking fish. Red eyes, toothpatch on the tongue, and a mix between the coloring between the two. Next time I am out I will try to get a picture of one for ya if I catch a decent sized on so you can tell.

I got a lake up in the mountains behind my house thats been pissing me off for years. They have a nice big sign that states any trout smaller than 22 inches is a throw back! Haven't brought one home yet. The only thing i catch is hell from my wife for getting pissed off all the time. She thinks you fish to experience the great out doors and relax.

NICE ... The biggest I have caught was 18lbs. Thats a nice fish man. I had one on that would have beat my record but as the story goes the damn line broke. I was PISSED ... and exhausted that thing was a monster .. I could barely get him to stop. 20lb test and he smoked it.

Re: A little river fishing .. another hobby of mine
Here are a few pictures I took while out the other day. Obviously this is not the river but I didnt feel like starting a new thread. This was at around 7.5ft above summer pool. I heard it was 11ft at its peak but I read 9.8 ... close to 10. And if you look at the building you can see the water line on it where it was. 7.5 feet may not seem like alot. Hell 1 foot doesnt down like anything but when you think about it in terms of 1 ft in depth spreading across a slow grade is an buttload of water and. Needless to say fishing sucks right now.
This is our weigh-in station .. You can see the top of the rails for the steps that used to lead down to the water.
To the left of those dumpsters is were we NORMALLY park cars and other vehicles that dont have trailers. Also the cable is under water and the bridge you see on the left. It has pivot points on both ends as it is connected to a floating marina. It usually has a downward slope towards the marina not the ground.

Another day on the river. This was a new section I had not fished. And overall a great day and I think I will be going back to this spot.

Thats actually a part of the Stones River. It is dammed up to form Percy Priest lake. As for the skeeters, well a picture is worth a 1000 words. This one was about the size of a quarter.
