I still have several months tell I can play it... anybody ever herd of installing bf1942 on a flash drive then being able to plugg the drive it into any computer and playing ? I have seen it done with other games ?

I think it might all just be standalone files like the dedicated server files. As long as the directory structure is the same you might be fine - on second thought, I don't know about whatever registry entries there are, like for license key, etc. Best way to find out is to try it.
