EA 117 Gaming Community

My name is Erik. I've been playing DC since it was in beta. I have found myself playing the EA117 server alot lately. Some days are better than others but I honestly think this is the best server out there. My partner and I generally play together, if you see me on, you most likely see Sakyosha co-located. I'm currently a Sergeant in the Army, a 19D cavalry scout, and assigned to 4-10 cavalry in Fort Carson. I am a team player. Some of the best times I've had on this server involved orbiting targets in the AC130 (Sak is a sniper with that mounted 105mm) or as a sniper spotting for artillery. I have no problem getting no kills if it means my team wins the match. I ended up in a bit of an argument today on the server with a couple of players who where friends of the admin. I was pretty unimpressed that they were getting away with some of the things they were doing. I came to your forum to see who your really were before I made contact. From what I've read, you seem pretty cool as a community and I'm hoping that by meeting some of you and getting know you, I might be able to avoid any future issues. I have installed TS and set it up for your server (I usually run ventrillo) but unfortunately there wasn't anyone on late Sunday night. So, hopefully I'll see some of you on and I look forward to playing some kind of a support role to allow our forces to roll over whatever map we're on.

Ya, if you ever need a pilot for the Herc, let Nighty know so he can get me to fly it. Only problem is if the map is Gazala he'll be in the hanger holding his breath in protest.

I'm sorry you had issues with players, but I would like to state that no ppl get preferential treatment here.

Blue was being shot down as they took off at the blue uncap, so warnings were given out. (no attacks on uncap, unless sniper or ppl firing out being our main rule) Now from what I gather (you left before I could find out, wish I would have known you were on TS, I would have jumped on) that you we're being attacked in main too? If that was the case, please let us know, or ask to talk in TS. You and Sakyosha chewing me out was not helpful. It only aggravates the situation and nothing gets sorted out. We cannot see everything all the time (especially if we're trying to play too or there is a lot of ppl on), but we try our best to keep an eye on things.

Thanks for the welcome guys, looking forward to playing with you. I hate to say it but I usually have to do the talking, Sak gets a little emotional. I can tell you that it wasn't his intent to break your rules but he was going to test the limit. We read the rules and as soon as the aircraft leaves the base it's fair game, that being said, it not very sporting to hang out there with the intent of whacking them on takeoff. He's really not an ass, he is huge on being a team player. Unfortunately he tends to react to things that he sees as unfair and he does it verbally and in public. I think that we can't really communicate our feeling via text in the middle of the game. TS should help us be able to understand each other. Less misunderstandings.

Colonel, I appologize for making your job harder. I was stuck between needeing to back up my friend and also stay within the rules of the server. I usually end up riding the middle in those situations trying to defuse things. I didn't see what he was doing, I did mention to him that if he was heading that way, make sure he stayed towards the middle of the lake, let them get their altitude before attacking them. After that, we found a blackhawk parked off of our main zipping us with the minigun as we came out. That's where the argument started. I respect your authority, you are an admin for a reason and anything I can do to help, just ask. I wouldn't undercut you, especially in public. If I had a problem, I would bring it up here so we can fix it. It is just a game after all.

Overall, I think this is a great server. I like how teamwork seems to spontaniously happen, even with no comms. I want to help support the gameplay. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys on.

Hey - welcome to both of ya For sure this is a great bunch of folks here at 117 and it's for sure the best server left out there - you sound pretty level headed and just want to enjoy the game - so I'm sure you'll get along fine on the server and if you have a good set of overboots, you'll be fine in here with all the crap that's thrown around - haha

I'm a big fan of Cheyenne Shadows - although I am really really bad - but I live in co springs so if ya want to grab a round golf, or beers - or both, shoot me a pm

*I'm almost always the support guy and run around wrenchin and pumpin health into my team - so I'm like you, fine with no kills trying to help the team - I've also logged a bunch of time in the seat of that dam spawn helo I really like stealing the other teams spawn helo and keeping it

OH MAN do I giggle when I steal the 130 and put it in our base and they spawn into it.... That by itself keeps me coming back

Hey Swodi, Co Springs? No shit. Small world. I have played golf exactly once and I managed to hit a car in the parking lot with my first swing. With the ball, not the club. Unfortunaely I will be leaving the Army in about two weeks and moving back to Washington State. I'll still be playing on here though.

haha, I was havin a gigglin fun time at rigs - on red... made it out to the blue ship and stole the spawn helo, then picked up NS on the lower 'tubes' flag.... then hoover'd over that flag as NS pick'd blue dudes off as they spawn'd looking at their own spawn helo shooting them.... oh sh!t was that funny!!!
