Part of the real deal flux capacitor .... now all you need is 1.1 gigawatts. And a clock tower of course ;)

I have no idea if that's not what it is.

Whoops Whirly already answered... his seems more logical but who knows I may be on to something Doc Brown. :?

Are you wearing a pink snuggie in this picture???? :D

Thanks Swodi this is going to sound so gay. The shaft is round, solid and tapers to a round end. :15: At the beginning of the shaft that damn square area looks like the thing slides into some kind of sleeve and possibly rotates. Its a pisser.

yeah - sounds funny - but I get ya... That's crazy... the square part it would seem for sure slides into something and is 'locked' to it (as opposed to spinnined inside it...) and the fat end with the taper like a funnel, it's like something is guided to be inserted into it... but why the long shaft part if it's not hollow?

I've never seen anything at all like that on the farm/harvest crews/ranch/race team(s)/computer guy... very odd...

that shaft to conduct something? water/elect/temp? is it stainless? not real silver is it? not one single marking on it?

killin me...

nah swodes they are just a 45 degree taper or a double hinged spring, self closers are not this elaborate.. im going maybe something surgical/food dairy industry etc as it looks stainless and the bronze maybe to stop contaminants.

LOLOL ... high dollar pencil sharpener.

I do not think it is any part of an airplane. Well at least not any part I have seen before. It does look like an ignition probe for the turbine section but no threads to screw it in like the ones I have seen. Definitely not a pitot tube.

If something does go into the brass piece it is not meant to come out. Almost like those "Sharkbite" fittings for plumbing.

Its not some weird kind of drill bit thingamagigger is it???? Why it would be rounded on the end I do not know though :?

I also wonder if it is a training piece. And by that I wonder if the section that you can see the brass piece from the side it normally not cut out?

Makes me wonder about a lightning rod.....

Lamp. I'm hoping here on our world connected forum we might figure it out. Over here the people that found it have over 300 suggestions. Southern Utah is working on it. I hope our gang gets it first.

Re: What is this?

Post by billythekid1 »

ok so this item fits in a drilling machine possibly a mill. the brass bit is like a morse taper and the cut out would not be there, when its used the item in the tape locks in until the stinless bit contacts the product and release the item due to no down force pressure being applied. its a fancy self depth screw/bolt installer ...

Or its connected to a positive teminal and they use it to ac weld studs onto machines. like a stud welder but big studs... thats what im going for :)

The fact that there are no markings or numbers on it seems like it should also be a clue of sorts. What bi-metal highly machined part like this never needs to be traced back to its lot and manufacture? Must be very civilian and non-technical like a commercial kitchen mixer part, or some other use where if it broke people just shrug and go "oh well." Or "Made in China" I guess.
