It can be used to play on the 117 server but he would need a valid cd key to play on it.

I'd say you hit the nail on the head Pain - your cd is bad.... That's why (as you mentioned) when you took your cd to another pc and tried the install it stalled/failed at the same point....

I'm with ya, head down and grab ya a new one - 10 bucks for a new one and you've already when through days of trying to figure it out... ;)

I can totally see the picture Trench outlined inside NS's case :D :D :D BUT - to be fair, I've used toothpaste on cd's more than once when they wouldn't read and it's got them to work! Did you say you tried that Pain? I for sure would rub some on there like you're waxing a car - circle it on and let it dry and buff it off and give it a try....

Something in the toothpaste fills in or something so it can be read where it's scratched sometimes - errr something ;)

I like Colgate Complete :D

I do not know if it fills in or actually polishes the plastic Swodi. Either way I would NOT buy new until I try it. I for one do not let it dry. Polish real good, rinse, then dry with soft cloth.

It just hit me, a friend had a CD that would skip. We notice a scratch on the back side (label side) I think he took a Sharpie and colored in the scratch on the label. For some weird reason I will never understand, it did not skip after that. Check the label side. What do you have to lose?

It would not hurt the disc. You are just looking at the label side of the CD to see if it is scratched. Then color in JUST the scratched area of the *label side*. Hell I will go write all over mine if it makes you feel better.

Sgt. Painkiller is back online.

We used Teamviewer and he is now able to connect to the EA 117 server using the BF1942 client from Origin.
