Share your settings tricks - aka the ultimate Nas setup :)

Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (will probably switch to 1440p when new monitor arrives in a few days)
Graphics settings: Low (I can run it high, but it seems a bit smoother and just simpler at low)
Field of View and FPS:
(done through editing C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\VideoDefault.con in Notepad):
renderer.fieldOfView 1.50 -- I use mali's setting to go from a 1.0 frame of view to a 1.5. 1.0 feels claustrophobic now
renderer.lockFPS 80 -- Dunno if that is even perceptible since I have a 60 Hz monitor...? New one will be 75 maybe I'll get more out of that? When I had this unlocked my game seemed to move waaay too fast.
Increase in-game font size:
(replaced C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\Font.rfa)
Custom Font file to make text (player names, chat, and console text) legible at 1080p. Got it from this Russian DC forum: https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=881
Mouse sensitivity: 1600 dpi
Custom key binds:
--Infantry--
Inverted mouse
Q: Main weapon
F: weapon slot 5 I believe (the m203 launcher)
Alt: grenade/C4
Z: prone (or is that default?)
Mouse 3: pistol (might change this to knife, just bound this and almost never use it)
Mouse 4: bring up map (this is facking sweet, I just bound this one and I love it)
B: inside camera
T: chase front (look behind me)
C: toggle camera
I moved the keys for the rear camera and normal camera, because that way I can quickly look behind me and switch back without searching around on the keyboard. This applies for in vehicles and planes too, of course.
--In air--
Inverted mouse
Click scroll wheel: parachute
Spacebar: pull up (I got this from Simon on the -TmP- server. I fly with mouse and keyboard, and this makes it so I can just hold down on spacebar to pull some deep G's --- right before Tona turns me into debris. Hey, that rhymes.)
As far as extraneous programs, I used to use Borderless Gaming on Windows 7, and ran BF/DC in Windowed mode, and that helped me get both the game and the menu all at the right resolution and taking up my full screen. So far, I haven't had that need in Win10, although maybe if I try it it'll clear up the alt+tab wonkiness.
Besides my chair (Steelcase Gesture, used: https://www.steelcase.com/products/offi ... s/gesture/) I've been really enjoying my new 75% keyboard: Logitech MX Mini (https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products ... -mini.html). I'm super used to Logitech's scissor switches (100+ wpm as you may have noticed) and the last logitech keyboard was just always pushing my mouse too far to the right. This one has much better tactile feedback, is a great size, and is backlit too. If you get it, I'd recommend forgoing the bluetooth and buying their Bolt dongle, which is hard to find but uses a faster proprietary wireless tech. The whole point of upgrading to Windows 10 was literally so I could use this keyboard.
I like to move around and change positions a lot, something this new chair helps me with since it is highly adjustable in almost every way. To that end, I also use my monitor on a monitor arm, so I can adjust the height and handle of my monitor on the fly. If I sit in a more upright position, or sit cross legged, I move the monitor up. If I am reclining more, I move it down. Otherwise I find myself looking up and that really facks up my neck.
I used to always play with headphones, but now that I have my speakers and subwoofer setup in my man shed I've been using those a lot of the time.
Can't think of anything else. Oh! And I close PornHub before loading game, usually.
