WHY CANT ANYONE GIVE YOU A SPOT WHEN YOU ASK FOR IT. If someone wants to run the arty well then by all means ...Have at it... Noob or regular.... Especially if it helps and they are watching the mini and know when someone yells negative to stop. So I guess the main thing is .. WHY NOT GIVE THEM A SPOT .... they can see the target and see where the projectile is hitting hence making it easier to aim accurately. I guess I try to be a team player and i understand not everyone has binos so they cant spot but .. .IF you select a guy with binos and are not in a firefight .. why not help out.... Give the guy some GOOD LOL coordinates and let him help you clear the flag before you go running in ....Ok .. rant over.

Well...it mostly depends on what target you are wanting...as a sniper, at times, I'm not going to give you a spot on the enemy main because it is a violation of the rules. Sometimes, a spot is not necessarily a good spot especially if you do not have a good overview of your target. Other than that, If I have glasses and can snap a pic...I will.

I am not questioning why people do not spot the main .. that was never in question nor am I asking for people to do that ... I have had people do that and I am quick to respond "that is the main and not a legal target " .. Another time on Medina I have had someone say while I have been in a MLRS or howitzer "Just shoot it or get out" .... What kind of response is that when you give the "Artillery is ready" .. F button. Even a spot given at the same level is better than no spot at all .. .If we are talkin the best i would prefer a spot taken from behind or to the side of the target. I just dont understand why it seems a hard or possibly a bad thing to do to give a spot for someone in arty. I dont mean to complain but I have noticed a trend going on with the lack of cooperation and people wonder why their team lost. I have had the SMAW and heard people ask over and over for a spot and no one will help. I understand it is cool to have your name at the top with the most kills but I like #1 to have fun and 2 to win as a team. And then 3 of course to have my name at the top Maybe I will get an answer from someone who refuses to give a spot for a guy in arty when they have binos.

It is when their MRLS, howitzers or tanks are firing out of the main. I also don't see why you can't take out the SA this way. Random splattering of the main is a different story. People also pixel shoot the BMP or rocket truck from the red main on BOB to the Apache spawn which is pretty weak IMO. Not all kits have the binocs so not everyone is able to spot. I try to spot when I can.

If I have a sniper rifle on blue on bunkers I will spot. Usually I have an m-16 on that one though and normally a smaw/rpg on other maps. If I have a sniper rifle its because enemy snipers are getting annoying and I'm going after them.

Snipers are usually too busy trying to boost their KDR to even pay attention to flags, let alone actually help out the team.

i always spot when its asked for and if i am in position to do so....and yet theres been many times when ive spotted and had no one back me up...so i guess it all depends on the map, whos on the same team as me and if they are good enuff with arty....

it is funny tho, that some of the same people who bitch and complain about how weak snipers are, are the first to complain that there arent any to spot for them (im by no means refering to the people who have posted here...its just my own observation from others who play at times on the server)

but my concern about people firing into mains, attacking another arty/mrls, is that some people are shit with their aim and many people in the mains get caught in the cross fire...

(oh and as snakeye and i found out not to long ago, it is UNSAFE to have someone looking down the tube of a mortar, while its being fired....just a word of caution )

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with the sniper comments ... And the complainer ... I will say it .. CAPT MORGAN ... GOOD LORD.... That guy whines everytime he gets shot by a sniper ... And I promise .. I love being that sniper. ... he can be nice and I have had some good games with that guy so I will not bash him altogether but man .... It gets under my skin.

Now back to the arty .... I am not a fan of shooting arty in the main or anyone firing out of the main with arty ... Because realistically speaking you are not going to hit your exact target the VERY first shot with arty. May be close but not dead on. With that said there is to great a chance of hitting a guy just spawning or anything in the main that is not a legal target. That being said I just dont shoot arty in the main. I will shoot out of just not into. I think most of us have an understanding that if someone calls out for a spot .. You SHOULD give them one if you have the means ... I jsut got a little ticked because there were people flat out telling me and others to get bent.

Every man on that battlefield plays a part in the winning of the team. If you are a good sniper .. by all means .. Snipe the main ... Snipe a flag ..whatever. I am just an average player at all aspects .. Not too good at close quarters but getting better. So if I see an empty MLRS or what ever .. i get in and help if at all possible. A good arty man can help get you into the flag with minimal resistance.

The only Arty i like to use is the scud, i asked for a spot the other day and got 2 in our own uncap base!!!11!1!!!!1

I usually just ask my brother to jump on just to spot >.<

If I am on and have binos ask me I will be more than happy .. that is if I am on red with ya

You can still ask me if I am on blue but make sure to tell me where you are gonna be shooting from so I know where the best spot to give you will be

1) It's a public server so you're only going to get so much teamwork...

2) Most of the players trying to take the flag that you want a spot on aren't packing binoculars

3) Veteran players know that their reward for spotting a flag is probably a tk from said arty. If not a tk, at least a good wounding so when they roll into the flag radius they'll easily be killed by the re-spawning defenders...

You need to find a buddy and work with him on TS. All else leads to frustration for you and angry outbursts from veteren players like me.

I agree with everything Pain .. EXCEPT .. yes i know there is always an except LOL .. but #3 ... if you have a qualified guy in the arty that can clear the place before you get in than as a vet you should realize the importance of that ... I am not pointing fingers so please remember this is text based and dont take that last comment as a smack to your face from what you said .. i am jsut speaking in general terms. Anyways as an example we had a noob running the missle truck for red on medina the other night and I got hit many times .. I help to him and taught him to watch his map and when hears the "Negative" call out and one of the arrows turns yellow near where he is shooting to stop. He figured it out and Boom .. we were in 73 capping the flag with minimal resistance . I guess being prior service i value each one of the guys/vehicles on this game .. yes i know its a game but i play to win I am sure like much of you on here do with FUN being the number 1 thing. So if I can have fun and win ... Icing on the cake and if that means getting other people to understand the value of each individual playing and the role they are portraying on the game and they get to win. Well it ends up being a win for them too ... Call me a giver i guess

I agree with Payne (preach it brudda!!) and have had the distinct pleasure of trying cap a flag multiple times only to be killed by the friggin' shilka, scud or some other weapon that some arty addict is using. I only spot when I see none of my team around the potential target and when I know the team mate calling for arty. Besides I usually am trying cap flags NOT camp them from afar so I rarely have the sniper kit.

On a side note: I'm sorry but there are NO NOOB weapons in the game I always LOL when peeps complain about weapons that may or may not be balanced (VSS which I do not use for example). If it's in the game it's FAIR GAME to use it. Any weapon in the hands of an expert can be deadly - Spec in the A-10, Aids in the Apache, I'm pretty fuggin good with with AK, etc etc

One thing I never do is use the snipe kit. Im in engineer kit on any tank map. MG kit on inf maps and some times ill use the Tube kit to defend a flag. Soo youll never get a spot from me ... neva neva neva.
seriously there are usually so many snipers on tank maps that I'm suprised you cant get a spot .. but I know its true. IMO sniping on a tank map could be considered nonproductive ... not that sniping is nooberish ... It jus doesnt make sence sometimes. Who am I to call anything "nooberish".

not everyone who snipes really knows what might be expected of them, regardless of the map....some of the better snipers i have seen playing on this server, still dont call for arty when its needed coz they are to busy worryin about their KDR......

keep in mind UR that now that this server is open for 48 peeps, there may not be enuff tanks to go around....so some might grab a sniper kit to assist in spottin (just a thought anyways) but a few snipers on tank maps can be productive...specially when ive seen people campin in t72's outside blue main or w/e

Well dang .. I had no idea about that on Omaha ... LOL ... I guess that would work Spec if you wanted to .. I am not trying to cause anymore work for anyone. We had one hell of a time on 73 the other day .. People were calling for arty like crazy LOLOLOL ... And for the guys in the arty it was great .. And blue was able to take both flags quick and when they lost it we could regain again very quick. ... i dont know maybe the teamwork vibe got out I even saw people that normally dont use arty in the Howitzer and MLRS even a admin was calling for a spot LOLOLOL.
